I make a mistake on the F#dim to G7. It DOES work as a passing chord. I marked the wrong note on the chart which threw me. SORRY! I've edited that part out now to avoid confusion. The edit will be reflected on the live video shortly. That's why you'll see an X on G7 but it's not spoken about.

Perfect timing! I'm about to move to this tune in the fluency course. I'll wait until I can comp in at least two keys comfortably before trying this though because I know that's what you would suggest.😃

same here. already trying to outline some melody but i will keep increasing fluency in comping.. understanding the structure of the song is one thing, applying it n getting ur hand move fluently in different inversion is another >

At 5.05 you discount the f#diminished for not having a b in it, but the melody note at the end of bar 2 is a c .?

I stupidly marked the wrong note! Thank you for pointing it out. I have edited that part out now to avoid confusion. It will be reflected on the live video soon. *However, you can use F**#dim** before G7*

I've recently discovered your videos; I am a guitar player, but I think they will work for me, especially because the notes on the piano are laid out in a good way to understand harmony better. Also, you are not explaining things too fast. What do you suggest I look into right now among your other vids; I was thinking about one about Barris Harris scales, so I can understand what's happening better. Happy new year by the way

Hi Dominique, I have several guitar players as members of Jazz Skills. The answer to your question really depends on your current level. If you're already playing standards fluently then by all means check out the Barry Videos I have.

Excellent again. But I wonder, how to decide if I should use min7 or min6. I tried this song with min6-chords and it didn't work well.

Great video! Looking forward to the next levels. Do you have suggestions of standards that have that much places where one can apply this rule? I tried on "there is no greater love" & "Autumn Leaves" but I did not find that many location to apply it (and the melodies are not as linear as for Fly Me to the Moon).

Why you always omit the dominant / diminished scale ? It's a huge part of barry system and i never hear you talking. Just wondering
