Der Name »Fabulous Austrian Trio« klingt etwas großkotzig? Von wegen, diese Band hat es in sich! Im hochenergetischen Spannungsfeld zwischen Fusion, Jazz Rock, Prog Rock und Avantgarde gehören die drei Österreicher in die europäische Champions League.
Gitarrist Alex Machacek begeisterte sich schon früh für Zappa, Holdsworth und ähnliche Musiker, spielte mit Terry Bozzio, Zappa-Musikern oder Marco Minnemann. Raphael Preuschl bevorzugt (halb-)akustische Bassgitarren und ist ein Meister auf der Bass-Ukulele - das konnte man schon mit David Helbock in Ravensburg erleben. Ebenfalls zur Elite gehört der Drummer Herbert Pirker, der schon mit Louis Sclavis, Wolfgang Puschnig oder Kurt Ostbahn auf der Bühne stand. Seit einem knappen Jahrzehnt sind FAT eine eingespielte Einheit, die ihre raffinierten und vertrackten Kompositionen mit Kraft und Präzision in die Gehörgänge des Publikums drechseln.

Machacek and Tim Miller are my two favorite guitarist these days. Hard to find something worth listening to and to play on guitar these days that really inspires me. These guys do that this day and time.

Wow!! Man just saw this 2 days back and kept coming back! Really like some of my favorites being played, Good morning, Repeat after me, and some new ones! Love the live show with the interactions between the band mates, so cool! Thank you for this, hopefully there is one coming up this time too when the band is there in Austria! Wunderbar!

Die Musik ist super! An der Performance an sich, könnte die Band aber noch etwas arbeiten. Dachte zu Beginn, dies sei eine Studioaufnahme ohne Publikum.

What amp head is he using here? By the way the knobs look, it looks like it could be a Quilter. Yup, it is a Quilter. Thought so.
