I remember recording this tune back in 83 onto a TDk tape from a pirate radio station in the middle of the night. It was a real funky fresh tune then just as it is still today,lov it ;-).

Remember this track so, so well. It was first released in 1983 and hugely popular on the Jazzfunk and Soul scene in London, The Home Counties and I am sure elsewhere in the UK as well.

This track reminds me so much of the hot summer of 1983 here in the North East of England. Myself & the lads used to go into Newcastle on a Friday night to bars such as Sloanes, Legends, The Eldon & then venture to Julie’s on the Quayside or Walkers and I would hear this song in all the mentioned above. The girls back then had no fish lips, squirrel tail eyelashes, that strange bright orange colour & the majority had waistlines, sadly not what we have today, most seem to have plenty stamps on their Greggs loyalty card. Saturday would take us to Whitley Bay where again I hear this song in the Compass Club, Olive Grove, Rio’s, Dunes & Churchills, such happy times. The girls at Whitley had the edge on the Newcastle ones & touch more refined, you had to work that bit harder to hide the sausage.
