Stuart Fuchs is an award-winning, internationally touring guitarist and ukulele teaching artist whose life's mission is to help others liberate their own "inner musician" through a holistic approach to music...to facilitate playing with greater ease and joy. Stu performs and teaches his fun & innovative ukulele workshops at music festivals throughout North America, the Caribbean & Europe. Stuart has practiced Buddhist meditation in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh, Yoga & Qigong for over two decades and is passionate about sharing music as a loving practice for self-care & wellness. Stu keeps a busy schedule as a teaching artist on the global "ukulele circuit", for school residencies and wherever music is shared. Stuart blends mindfulness & music with a playful and inclusive at his annual “Ukulele Zen” retreat held at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck NY - his KZfaq channel “Ukulele Zen” offers weekly ukulele lessons to over 50,000 subscribers. Fuchs, an accomplished guitarist in many styles, has arranged and performed the gypsy jazz guitar music of Django Reinhardt for full symphonic orchestras and was featured on PRI’s "The World” with his award winning gypsy jazz band “Babik”. In 2014 Stuart was awarded a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts for his work bringing healing music to cancer patients at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo NY, where he was a professional artist in residence for eight years. Stuart has toured the world with his ukulele music, workshops and also toured internationally playing his classical guitar with the acclaimed new age Kirtan artist Snatam Kaur.
