Wow, this video REALLY shows the food at this place. I've seen other videos for this buffet, but they didn't go around showing all the food stations. The guy is one tough food critic! but I like that because it's honest and informative. Good job!

Just a few miles from my home. Imagine growing up and living there for a lifetime. We appreciate them. The family that owns Shady Maple is the Weaver family. They are Mennonites, very close to Amish. One thing to remember about PA Dutch, Mennonite, and Amish, they do not usually use a lot of spices. We are pretty much just salt and pepper people. I always get the pork and sauerkraut with mashed potatoes. Yum. Thanks for sharing this.

The land around there was always primarily owned by the same families for hundreds of years: Weavers, Goods, Peachey, Shenk, and a few more. If you drive around there, you will see Weaverland Mennonite Church and Weaverland Rd. The families are Godly, hard-working people. It is a wonderful place to live and visit.

I took a trip to the Lancaster area almost solely for this place back in 2021. One of the best buffets I've ever been to - I had Thursday dinner and breakfast the next morning, and both were fantastic .

We love Shady Maple. Only about a half hour drive from our home. The best food ever. We go several times a year as a treat for us. I also love the ham balls and buttered noodles and the roast beef. Thanks for sharing.

I don't know which is better -- seeing all of that Amish Comfort Food, or watching your enthusiasm when you are eating it. My Grandfather was old school Amish -- a Hershberger from Walnut Creek OH. I still have many relatives there but it's difficult to keep in touch with them.

If you are ever in Palm springs go to the agua caliente casino, it's big too. But this one is quite a bit bigger. Amazing. Eating is a sport here.

Can't beat Shady Maples. You did a great job showing everything. Gift shop is very nice as well. Really liked Bobbie's Janis Joplin shirt. Two I wish I would have seen live were Janis and Elvis. There is a very nice store across the parking lot that has lots of goods and a grocery store as well. You could spend a whole day eating and shopping. Great job as usual!

Yum! I'm drooling! Everything looked really good to me! I want some roast beef and horse radish, beets, asparagus, cucumber salad, Brussel sprouts and mashed taters with brown gravy....oh and a big plate of all the desserts! Next visit I want the turkey with all the trimmings, Thanksgiving style!! They'd have to roll me out on a stretcher!!! Wonderful video as always!! Thanks for letting me tag along!!

I love Shady Maples. My husband and I go about 4 or 5 times a year. The complex is beautiful. I love the gift shop, paintings, water fountain, market next store ect. The buffet itself is the largest and I love the variety and food. My favorite items include Cajun Catfish and Salmon ( Fri and Sat dinner only) , the steamed and cold shrimp, the chicken wings ( lots of varieties), the cranberry rhubarb salad, the hot bacon dressing, fantastic salad bar, the cheese's esp the Amish, the breads, flavored cappuccinos, desserts especially pies such as pecan, shoo fly, peanut butter and the ice cream bar. Their fries are great too .. potato and sweet potato. Just love this place. Great video!

This place is even bigger than some of the bigger buffets I have visited in Las Vegas. If it wasn't a 670 mile drive from my home in Indiana, I would be heading that way just to try the place. We have been there and the food is abundant and good, typical buffet food. Even taking a tablespoon of several things, it was impossible to try even one quarter of what was available. Saturdays are really busy with lots of bus patrons. It was very clean for the volume they serve and the bathrooms were immaculate. The artwork was so awesome with attention to detail. We didn't even make it to the gift shop.We would like to return since the buffet is just one piece of the Shady Maple complex.

We went up to this restaurant after watching your video. Was on a Saturday “ big mistake” lol The place was packed. One employee had told us the weekend prior they had around 8,000 customers. The gift shop is huge. A different place to try . Ty for the time you both put into your videos. I enjoy watching your channel!

For the past few weeks here in eastern Pennsylvania we have been getting the most delicious watermelon. I love watermelon I've been eating it almost everyday. I also love asparagus and brussel sprouts but I don't want crunchy for me to have to be cooked all the way through to perfection. 👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻

I really appreciate y'all. The care to show us the items. The time it takes to do that plus describe the foods makes y'all my absolute favorite foodie KZfaqrs. And believe me, I follow a lot. I lived in Dayton, OH back in the 80's and fell in love with the Amish culture. I'm planning a trip to Lancaster next year to visit these lovely people. Staying our favorite is the Fulton Steamboat but it can be expensive. They changed the room I was told but haven’t seen it. Stay in room on 3rd floor it’s an adult only floor. If you want Amish the places are Katie’s Kitchen and Dienners that is not a 100 percent Amish owned from what I’ve been told but has a great set up for the money. We also liked Fireside Tavern and Gracie’s on West Main #2 ranked on TripAdvisor where I got that big bacon platter. You have to see Sight and Sound that is a must and check out American Music Theater to see what shows are going on. The Eden is a fancy hotel a few miles from the main Amish area that is very nice but expensive. We stayed there but didn’t film it. Feel free to contact us with more questions if you need.

Also, at McDonald's or Wendy's and other fast food places, they ask you to donate a dollar or your ask you to round up your change to their charities ( Ronald McDonald's house, or Wendy's adoption program). They take your donation and they profit by your donation. By the restaurant donating your money, then getting a TAX CREDIT TO THEIR COMPANY ( FOR YOUR MONEY NOT THEIR OWN). PLEASEGIVE TO ST JUDE OR ANOTHER WORTHY CAUSE. TY

Amy and I ate there last week. It was a bit overwhelming, but the food was fantastic! We hit it on seafood night. The only disappointment was that the steak was a little tough but still delicious. I was a little embarrassed on how much food I put away, but it was once in a lifetime.

John the first time you said cabasa and the second time you said kabasi. My mother was polish and we always called it kabasi. We get good kabasi in Pennsylvania since there are a lot of Polish people. 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

That’s one of those words that I have heard pronounced so many different ways. Just like Lancaster Pa and gyro that gets pronounced different by where you live. I pronounce these words different almost every time. On KZfaq you get so many comments saying you say it wrong. It’s all where you live and used to hearing. The correct pronunciation is with the a sound at the end of it. But I pronounce it more like your Mom said it. Thanks Jeff as always😎😎

@@jbinthehills I wasn't complaining I just found it funny I've heard it pronounced cabasa but in Eastern Pennsylvania most people say kabasi. I watch a lot of videos of British people traveling through the United States and they pronounce dozens of our words incorrectly like taco and Herb and Cactus and many others they say them completely different. And they call the ground outside the floor. Where Americans call the inside the floor and outside we caught the ground but the British call the inside the floor and they call the outside the floor which makes no sense to me whatsoever. 😂😂

I know it’s just so funny how words are pronounced so different. I know you weren’t complaining my friend. Lancaster here in West Virginia we say it like it looks it that area it’s said like Lang-Kister. We try our best to say it right. It’s just so crazy like you just said. Makes no sense which is right. Years ago probably going back to the early 2000s late 1990s down in the gift shop they use to have a restaurant down there to the restaurant was an all you could eat salad bar and baked potato bar I forget when they to that out though

Loved Bobbies plate the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, Brussel sprouts asparagus and the chicken stuffed with broccoli. John's plate I love cause you have the grilled and fried shrimp my favorite, of course the pulled pork, ham balls, ham. Love! Bobbie's second round salad!!! John's second round prime rib, corn salad, the Amish macaroni salad with the pulled pork YUM. noodles, cucumber and onions great summer salad. Bobbie love the ice cream cake!
