THIS is basically 100% what I do as well. Everything i do, wedding, engagements, or what i have come to call ALT-Sessions since they can use this for anything they want ( Bridal, engagement, trash the dress, etc ) which also makes it even more catered to them and their personalities. I use a lot of fun interactive prompts that are really all about the couple and that fit their personality. If they are a super nerdy couple, im 100% pulling superhero meme the whole time lol. I also live on my 35 / 85. The way i think of it, 35 is for storytelling, and 85 is for creative. But when combined they are the Gotenks of storytelling lol. Don't ever be afraid to get in there. You can be in the moment with the couple and their guests without disrupting it and still being really close. Chances are, they won't even know you are there...especially on the dance floor when their all drinking anyway lol.

This was part of a styled shoot workshop. So there were other photographers there taking shots as well. I was one of the teachers and showing how I approach these photos.

I've done a couple. It was just never my jam. Funny enough I have 4 kids and one on the way so you think I'd be a master with how long my wife's been pregnant. 😂😅

Yep. Luckily this was just a styled shoot and I do a little better when I'm actually shooting for real but it's one of my weak spots. Not going to lie.
