The 9.1 Soundbar itself is packed with 3 speakers on the front grill and 2 up-firing speakers on the top of the left and right of the soundbar. My unit was only installed last July 2023. My unit is already is in Highpoint Service Network ( JBL's official service center in Malaysia) already last November 22, 2023 already and they cannot give me the specific date when can they finish repairing my unit. The usual answer you can get is waiting for the parts to arrive. But they told me that my unit will be finish by 1st week of December. Today is already Dec 13, 2023 and no specific date was given to me when can they finish fixing my unit considering I used it less than 20 times after I installed my 9.1 JBL soundbar.

Nice surround for just 4k but alot of problem for it, my advice for anyone who purchase this make sure u test it out on the spot it eill save u all the hassle. First thing u want to check is the portable speaker battery is it chargeable or not, then unplug it and run see is it function or not. So far all the problem always left side portable speaker .

I don’t understand why you have the rear speakers set up on the side (flat side towards you) like that. The rear speakers are designed with the top speaker up firing to help give you the height projection and they are angled. The tweeter is on the front side to help with nearing treble response. The way you have it set up, the top speakers will be firing down because of how they are angled and defeat some of the Atmos effect.

Honest opinion, in terms of setting up and better surround sound system, the 9.1 wins. But if youre a geeky one and have good cable management skills, 5.1 is aint too bad of a beast itself

My rear speakers are hissing. But you can only hear it if you have it very close to you. is that normal ?

Not normal . By right it give u at least 10 feet distance still work fine for me but keep in mind the portable speaker will malfunction pretty fast thats one downside of it. And is a hassle to pack it all back in one piece and send it for warranty. So I decide to change from 9.1 to 5.1 since is basically the same just without the portable speaker.
