So now that the the JBL Partybox On The Go is here people want to know how it stacks up against the UE Hyperboom. Now just a disclaimer here, I absolutely love the hyperbooom… its been my go to speaker for the bulk of 2020 and I prefer this speaker over the JBL Boombox 2. So lets see how JBL’s new large portable bluetooth speaker compares to the hyperboom.

Hey Gym, how about a video on HYPERBOOM vs. H/K AURA 3 or HYPERBOOM vs. AMAZON ECHO STUDIO. I Believe the hyperboom would thrash either of them but a video from you would give a bigger picture,so why not😃. Looking forward for it. Keep up the good work man. Love your content!❤️

Have you tried the Hyperboom with other booms & megabooms? I tried it with multiple Booms 2 & Megabooms (1) wired & wireless (since they all have aux ports) & the Hyperboom makes an echo because it has a latency... Quite a dealbreaker, especially at that price...

there is a good chance that if you keep them all wireless and connect using the boom app, it will fix the latency. using a mix of wired and wireless is always ill advised without proper latency measures to account for the speed difference. The wireless app has the latency adjustment built in, but wires effectively bypass that, which would explain your issues

@@SuperSocks7 the issue is present in all wired and in all wireless. It never went away. My solution was to go wired with an eq filter to use the hyperboom as a subwoofer only. Without the highs it is less noticeable but still present... At that price it's a shame. Even more so since all the other UE Boom/Mega 1-2-3 are intercompatible, but not the Hyper...

@@wisico640 is there a chance you have a faulty product? I use my hyperboom with 2 megaboom 3’s on a regular daily basis with absolutely zero issue. You could try forgetting the Bluetooth device and re-pairing it but failing that you may just have a problem

@@wisico640 i have experience with sound design too! just never had the issue before, it might help that i keep the speakers in reasonably close proximity with direct line of sight but i guess its just not working for you. the simple solution would be for logitech to include a method of adjusting the latency for each speaker, but that is noticeably missing from the app so what can you do. On the upside by itself the hyperboom isn’t bad by itself, just missing stereo. at the end of the day ive got a Yamaha sound system that works a treat. cant beat cables and an amp, always 100% reliable. and still working 20 years after purchase, i doubt the hyperboom will live past 6 years but thats the tragic reality of modern bluetooth devices

In PARTY BOX OTG you only get the 100watts when it's plug in, in the PB OTG does not plug in

Bro the bass boost 1 is better than the 2 the bass boost 1 is boosting the lower bass and the 2 just changing the lower bass frequencies to around 65 Which is upper bass so why do you think the bass boost mode 2 is better lower bass is way better comper to upper bass?

great review - I have both these speakers. Hyperboom easily outperforms the JBL, and has crazy bass. But as far as pimp effect, I take my JBL anytime I go out somewhere... the beach, yardwork, hoops at the park. Also, my kids absolutely love the mic. The weird thing about my JBL, seems like the battery is inconsistent.... but I've never ran out of juice with it.... playing at least 4-5 hrs. Overall, I'm still team JBL but between these two.... the hyperboom is the big boy!

I thing its not two levels of bass, but two types. First is indoor, second outdoor, like on partybox 100, 300 and original boombox. There should be more bass, but less battery. To be honest, for 300 this is not interesting a mot worth it. It looks like recycled partybox 100 and i think ist true. Just swapped plastic parts witch fabric and gain some switches, but used weaker, or old batteries. Just recycling. And im telling it as a fan of jbl speakers. But i also want hyperboom, two of them

I heard both at best buy & lests just say when I cranked the hyperboom a lady started dancing, it has plenty of bass & gets really loud. It has a studio sound excellent speaker

Nice review but you are not entirely right about the bass port placement having anything to do with bass reflecting of the wall. Bass frequencies have a wavelength that will reflect any speakers bass from a wall or a corner :) 3dB for each surface actually.

kinda sad the party box on the go couldn’t have at least a 10 hour battery life , it’s on sale for 200$ right now n i’m seriously considering buying it , battery life is the only problem i’m having , all tho i usually leave my bigger speakers in my room and plugged in so honestly who cares

I bought a hyperboom because I already own a dozen Boom 2 & Megaboom (1) that I use outside. The hyperboom as some lattency to it & created an echo. I hope they fix it since it costs almost 600$ cad with taxes...

For me JBL is better. İt doesnt sound like someone standing in front of the speaker. İt has really nice dynamic sound that has good bass with clean punch and depth while not losing control in the mids. And treble good enough.

i feel like your battery life tests are unrealistic, who is playing their speaker at 80+% volume constantly? Unless you hate your neighbors and are trying to get a noise complaint

It's a partybox. 80% volume is pretty loud but when you factor in a party environment it's not particularly loud and realistic for a medium gathering.

They are manufactured to be outside speakers predominantly used for parties, so yes they will be used at higher volumes!

To me, the Hyperboom sounds like all UE products, kind of boxy. The JBL sound is much richer, drier and clearer. But it is, as with many things, a matter of taste.
