In my memory, the 630 had improved bass response compared to the 530, but the vertical horn on 530 is simply breathtaking.

What would be a good 3 way centre speaker to match the Studio 630? The JBL 625c and 665c seem to be very ordinary designs and I have a wide seating area.

I bought these recently snd have owned many bookshelf speakers and i love these. Wonderful sound and very dynamic. The best in this price for my ears. Slightly warm and good with all music. Impressive!

@Tharbamar Excelent eeview as always sir!!. How does thi horn tweeter compares to the likes of klipsch. Is the tweeter better behaved and does it sounds really foward as the KLipsch tweeter. Also how do you compare this vs the r200?? . Im analyzing my next speakers and the R200 and this are in The price range i want. You said thhis played better base and wider soindstage; but is the tweeter sharper or not compraed to r200 Thanks as always my freind

@Jeipr Not like Klipsch at all, 630 is rather opposite like engaging in sound with seamless driver integration. R200 is very good but it doesn't have the image and ability like HDI horn loaded compression driver in 630 can in immediacy and articulate sound, I don't know your preference but I'm all about balanced natural sound with a little warmer side neutral but dynamic when needed is my preference, so which 630 came very close in everything in the price range. Thanks

I'm asking for advice, because I really appreciate you. Can the Polk r 100 with the Marantz 6007 be enough for a 12'x17' room and mostly for jazz music. Does the sound differ from the Klipsch RP500 that I have, so I need another pair that is warmer and not full of American muscle 😀.Is Polk r 100 or Dali Oberon 1 recommended??? .Thank you

These are very similar to the JBL 1600 HDI speakers I had and highly regarded. Better wood finish but then more than twice the cost.

Personally I preferred horn loaded compression driver over horn loaded metal dome driver, especially in stereo imaging and width, thanks

Gosh, with such high praise from you, I am so surprised that there are virtually no reviews on these speakers AT ALL! WHY? I was really hoping for another opinion. How do they look in person because they come across a little "cheap" looking on camera? How do they compare to your CSS td1x? Thanks!

They look pretty decent, apparently they want to push more expensive HDI series, Studio 6 series has great balanced between dynamics and refinement, still maintaining studio monitor like accuracy. 1TDX Superior is a bit lacking in openness and width, it’s expensive compared to Studio 630 plus hassle of doing it yourself by putting a lot of effort, 1TDX should come fully assembled crossover otherwise not worth it in my opinion, thanks

i Have both KEF LS50 Meta & JBL530 and unfortunately i find the Kef much more detailed and refined while the 530 give a bit more of warmth to some singers. They are good speakers but overall a bit not precise as the KEF. Considering that i pair both with: Unico Unison Research amp and Matrix i-3 pro DAC …

Hello Thatbamar, this is Apoorva from India. I have recently placed an order with my dealer for these pair of Bookshelves (JBL 630) & shall arrive soon. Just want to ask that the stands on which you have placed these JBL 630 Bookshelf speakers, won't the Speakers fall off with a slight push? I saw one KZfaq online video in which a gentleman had placed the Focal Audio Theva No. 1 Bookshelf speakers upside down & a stand on it after which, he secured both the stands & speakers with each other using screws.

I still like my 530 for neutral sound but 630 is just better in depth and width with warmer sound signature.

There is something very wonky with this speakers midrange. The bottom midrange sounds scooped out but upper midrange sounds over emphasized. My guess is that there is a sharp drop in sensitivity for the lower mid range. Otherwise these would be amazing I think. Maybe a possible EQ fix.

Yeah R2R Pre and DAC front end is a little too warm for Studio 630.

They don’t sound alike, 630 has wider and deeper sound stage with better micro detail, in comparison RP600M sounds a bit congested and less open, thanks

Fair enough, but there's also a $200-$300 difference between the two. Now with the JBL Studio 620, which is a more direct comparison with the RP-500M II considering woofer size and only a $50 difference, what would you say between those?

Every sound demo I've heard of this speaker, including this one, the first thing that I hear is SIBILANCE with esses. Either the 2414H-1 compression tweeter is a harsh sounding tweeter or it's clearly not implemented correctly in the Studio 630. I have the Studio 530 and it doesn't have the sibilance of the 630, so I won't be wasting my money on the 630 as a potential "upgrade" to the 530.

Please let me know if you audition them in your system because online sound demo will not show true quality of the speakers and also depends on how you listen to online sound demo as well, otherwise 630 eat 530 for breakfast in depth, scale and width. 530 is good but 630 is so much more enjoyable to listen.

@@Tharbamar shouldn't you differentiate the speakers since the Jbl studio 630 is better than the quad S-2 that gets 5 stars in everything and only cost around 50 euros more than 1 jbl 630 (not 1 pair), which should make the quad s-2 a much better buy, value for money

@@gasolin75 Hi, I don't know about EU pricing all my rating is based on USD, Quad S-2 was 1200 USD originally, every thing is based on original price to performance.
