An EQ setting on the phone will fix the need for an outdoors mode on the Xtreme 2.

It’s the perfect portable size with a massive quality output even on the high end of the volume spectrum it gives absolute no distortion, heck if you want the speaker to go even louder, leave it connected to the wall through the charging port and it’ll give it more juice making way louder! Regardless best speaker hands down for its price, size, & quality. Admit the JBL boom box is preposterous, bulky and mainly aimed towards larger gatherings making less versatile.

I just bought the jbl exreme 2 and I am very happy with to. The sound quality is fantasic and great bass that I like so much.

I just bought a Clip 3 and Xtreme 2 (my first 2 bluethooth speakers ever) and I expected more from the Xtreme 2 but the Clip 3 has such good sound for that small size

I luv my extreme 2 my music never sounded so good. Very balanced frequencies overall. Don't think I will ever replace this speaker. It is perfection for me.

yes I enjoyed the video, u maid your point perfectly clear and I totally agree. I was mainly looking for to the rumor about it being 50 watts and definitely was looking forward to it having a slightly better battery / life. But better sound, connect plus, water proof and more pleasing design definitely good enough for me! I don't give a dam that it's missing one extra charging port l as I only use the external battery feature in times of emergency plus I have several others that have the same feature but yeah awesome review dude I'm looking for to mine arriving in the mail I have the forest green I'm looking for to getting a second 1 next year in that midnight blue! Two xtreme 2s and a boom Box will be awesome and I bet the xtreme 2s will get louder in stereo mode!

I returned my Xtreme 2. Sounded great but the max volume was disappointing. Bought the Boombox and got exactly what I needed.

The first JBL I got was a GO 2. Then I bought a flip 4. Then for this Christmas I got a Charge 4.The Flip 4 and the Charge 4 make a great combo with JBL Connect+. I don't think I need an Xtreme or a Boombox. I am happy with what I have.

It was proven in a video done by Clavinetjunkie, that a "break-in" has no positive effect on the sound. From his measurements, there was even more distortion after he did his break in, while the tuning remained virtually unaltered.

Your opinion is exactly the same as mine lmao, i also expected a little more, yes the audio improved, yes it has JBL Connect +, but the battery life, the nitt picky thing about the carrying strap and the indoor/outdoor mode were also expected to imrpove, tho they didn't.

I use low frequency mode and a Spotify eq and it’s equally loud to my $2000 Bose speaker. It’s like 3 times louder than normal mode with no eq. And it’s still sounds really good being 3 times as loud like it’s ridiculous

You are totally right!!i expect that the JBL Xtreme 2 has now 20 hours batterylife, but he still has 15 hours batterylife. And the JBL Charge 3 is a smaller speaker but he has 20 hours batterylife!! why did they dont upgrade it?! And on CES they said "The new JBL Xtreme 2 has now 50W" but thats bullshit i have the JBL Xtreme 2 too but i expected more too.....

I am looking for a Bluetooth Speaker I was originally going to go for a Sony but I want one with an audio jack input so that would mean I could only go for the XB43. However the size and battery life has put me off. My next choice was the JBL Extreme 2 but your comments on Latency now prelude that as I will be watching videos with it. I want one that's waterproof as I will be taking it camping so what do your recommended? Is there anything that fits the bill? Thanks in advance.

I got the Xtreme, 2 after a week of use, probably 5 times used it wouldn’t power off. So i used till the battery dried then charged it again and then it wouldn’t turn on at all. Will return it and get something else. It’s only slightly louder than my charge 3. Yeah better sound quality but I don’t think it’s worth for the price difference.

I've got the Xtreme 1 and JBL certainly won't be getting my money for the price their asking for the version 2...JBL had all this time so they flatten the sound and say they want more mad money but yet when you take it out in the park against the the old Xtreme the old one is louder crazy if you have the old one folks hold on to it remember there's a thing called Equalizer it's on every phone standard adjust it with your speaker to suit your taste and save yourself alot of money!!!

i think what they mean about jbl xtreme 1 hardware limitations is that its not water proof its only splash proof so i guess thats the reason

Will the connect+ feature work on the JBL extreme 2 if the music source is via auxiliary Jack instead of bluetooth? My end goal is to connect 2 extreme 2 speakers to my TV but NOT use a Y adapter for connection. Make sense?

I have this speaker and I have no issue with it you pay for what you get I have downloaded the equaliser app and it makes a lot of difference to the sound so You can only get so much out of any speaker that's my opinion

I’ve had the Xtreme for 2 years and I just found out it was supposed to come with a strap, and I oddly knew exactly where that strap was even though it wasn’t in the box.

Fixed easily, use a 4-port hub and you'll get all you need out of it.

It’s a pitty that they had an update later wich made speaker a whole lot better and little louder wich was really an issue with this speaker. Now you have a lot of people who already reviewed the speaker wich make people think they shouldn’t go and get it because of lack in volume.

For the price I went with the w king d8. Actually I bought 2 for $160 for both and bought a protection plan for $8. They sound great paired together but I have to admit the extreme 2 does have a more refined sound. However not that much more refined!!!

I bought a JBL extreme 2 years ago and it recently died. Dead, battery tested fine. Something on the circuit board killed it. Anyone else have this problem??? I'm not sure what to buy next... help

Sony has an equaliser to adjust treble and bass. Is there an option to adjust treble and bass on extreme2? Or any 3rd party apps to help?

I got it too but my problem is that unlike the Xtreme 1 the Xtreme 2 isn't as powerful anymore if you play metal songs because there just isn't enough bass :/

Wrong, the JBL 2 doesn’t have all of the features that the JBL 1 has. Plus, if you decide to use it outside, the JBL 1 has an outdoor listening enhancement feature that the JBL 2 doesn’t have. Its extra size does give it a little more bass enhancement production, but minimal, and only noticed at lower volume. So for just a little bit of bass that you don’t even notice at higher volume from the JBL 2, and the fact that the JBL 2 doesn’t get as loud as the JBL 1, “especially outside,” it’s a no brainer to me that you would just stick with getting the JBL 1 and save yourself some money, because the change isn’t that significant of a difference to get the minimal upgraded version, only the price.

Hey whats up!! I don’t know if you have ever tried holding bluetooth and volume negative the speaker gets noticeably louder. Is there anyway you can review this versus louder bluetooth speakers.

I don't really care about the loudness but for anyone that has the speaker how big of a bass difference is there between it playing at 60% volume on battery power and 60% volume while plugged in? Thanks
