The bigger speaker is the JBL Xtreme 3 (GG) in Ocean blue. It is a Bluetooth 5.1, rugged, ip67 water and dustproof,powerful Bluetooth speaker pushing 50 watts rms it also has 15 hours of battery depending on what music you’re listening to and at what volume . It comes with a carry strap that has rubber grips and a bottle open built into it, it charges from dead in 2.5 hours by it’s super fast charger that came with it.
The smaller speaker is the JBL Charge 5 (ND) in Ocean blue. It is a Bluetooth 5.1, rugged, ip67 water and dustproof, Bluetooth speaker pushing 40 watts rms. It has 20 hours of battery depending on what music you’re listening to and what type of music. It charges from dead in 4 hours.

Charge 5 sounds balanced. Question: is it mono or stereo when alone? Noticed when volume is cranked up above 70%, bass fades

Unfortunately the charge 5 is mono. But the xtreme 3 is stereo

The charge 5 is mono unfortunately this is because it has a “race track” shaped frontward firing woofer and a frontward firing tweeter, it also has two passive radiators on each side. But the xtreme 3 is stereo because it has dual frontward firing woofers (they are circular) and dual frontward firing tweeters it also has dual passive radiators on each side. The bass fades at above 70% on the charge 5 because the new tweeter on it, on both speakers there is a customisable EQ via the JBL portable app which can make the xtreme 3 more balanced and the charge 5 good bass at above 70%, this also means you can adjust the sound to your liking. @@MrJBL0 Thanks mate for the detailed reply. Currently I'm using Flip 5 and it has been a good companion. It is also mono speaker by your explanation on Charge 5. I was in dilemma on my next purchase: Charge 5 or Extreme 3. I would love to be listening to stereo sound.

Hi! Expensive....but i have 3 JBL...2 Charge 5 and 1 Xtreme 3....the next Xtreme 3 is coming on 8 Feb. ........😀 in my op. must have is the stereo Mode........You cant use 2 Charge 5 and 1 Xtreme 3 in Stereo Mode....only 2 Speakers alone (from the same) works in Stereo.......What you have: 2 Charge 5 or 2 Xtreme 3...When you get 2 Charge 5 and 1 Xtreme....only have Partymode........I say: buy 2 Charge 5...or 2 Xtreme 3.......I use in the Future 2 Xtreme 3 in my Workcar......the 2 Charge 5 is for Home......and all 4 Speakers is for Holidays.........heavy!......JBL makes FUN for Me........but its $$$........oh.....i forget: i'm 50.........😋 (Sorry For my English)

Good comparison video but please do not turn theses boxes on the ground!😮I ve noticed in the web, that the rubber stripes on the bottom from the extreme 3 easily got loose and can fall off from the device, I think same with charge 5 😢

Yes the rubber strips on my JBL Charge 5 are falling off, however it is rather old and worn out. But i won’t move the speakers around while the are on the ground on while I’m recording because after i rewatched it i realised I shouldn’t have moved them around alot. Thank you alot for the comment and advice i really appreciate it👍

@@MotherShip404 the xtreme 3 is definitely worth it and the best build in my opinion is the GG version i’m not sure what colours are usually GG but to check what build you have look at the bottom of the box and find the serial number (it says SN: GG/ND and a bunch of numbers) it’s also on one of the hooking points of the strap on the actual speaker itself.
