LFM mode Low Frequency Mode. In principle, it works at low frequencies. To explain, without the lfm mode, the jbl xtreme 3 has a range from 53.5hz to 20,000hz. The LFM mode push the lower frequencies so that they can be heard more, and of course the passive radiators will make larger excursions. However, this only works on low frequency songs or more bass songs. It will not be noticeable on songs such as metal or country or similar styles, and the sound will of course be worse. And the last thing if you are playing some song on LFM on high volume to long it can damage your speaker. And is not covered by warranty.

No. It's just a debug mode. When you activate it, all the digital processor settings and limits are turned off. So the speaker will produce frequencies as much as it can(and the speakers aren't designed to handle that). You'll notice it become more trebble ish because the settings jbl made to bring the bass on early are off. But at higher volumes it will try to produce more bass and could damage the speakers. And for audio without much bass, the trebble won't sound good.

This helped so much as I accidentally turned off low frequency mode and thought that I had broken my new speaker

When I brought the xtream 3 I was disappointed with the bass on it as how expensive the speaker is 😢 but know you have put this vid on I use the bass boost more and know I'm loving the speaker! Thanks 👍

This is perfect if you want to listen to music indoors at a low to Medium volume, but i have heard that playing at high volume with LFM ON can destroy the speakers. I like this idea though. Turn it OFF for outdoor use and ON for indoor use. 😎👍
