May be you have the duplicate one , there are plenty of Fake JBL in Jeddah Ksa , i almost fall for it , but i found out from the seller between the fake and real one

Its not because the xtreme 1 aged well, its because jbl didnt make huge improvements after so many years passed.

Speakers are just not comparable to other technological advancements. You just cant get deeper bass in a cabinet thats not bigger and with the same passive radiators

@@Janhatfun advancements can be had thru the dsp. Major enhancements. And a change of design like PRs to bass ports or vice versa can be done. JBL is just too lazy.

I feel like the Xtreme is so much warmer with greater presence in the low end however the Xtreme 3 has a lower bass frequency overall even if the clear mids and highs cover the bass slightly giving it a flatter but more pronounced sound.

There’s only so much sound you can push out of an enclosure this size and JBL seems to be very close to the limit since the original XTREME still sounds pretty good

The xtreme 3 has a better bass response and volume but the xtreme 1s tweeters honestly sound less harsh and more buttery while still having a very similar ads response.

i’ve had the jbl xtreme for 2-3 years now and i usually just keep it plugged in anyways , even when i do have it unplugged though the battery lasts a couple days , obviously that’s not playing the whole time but it still works fine , i am thinking about upgrading thought just because of the look of the new one

I've had my JBL Xtreme for probably close to... 5 years? And it still sounds so good, I do have to say that I use it most of the time plugged in, but even at around the three to four year mark, I never really saw any battery issues. I didn't know that these issues were so common for people, I guess I just got very lucky. I also got my JBL for $110 when it was top of the line, thanks to a really neat Black Friday/cyber Monday sale

Battery issue is due to a drift between the li-ion modules , appearing through several recharges. There is a fix by replacing original battery with 4x 18650 battery. The issue came on my xtreme after only a year , with a sudden ridiculous autonomy (1 jhour) and recharges wher then done in only a fraction of what you usually see on a new model. Since I’ve done this replacement, no more drifting between the batteries, the autonomy remains the same still 2016.

I had an old friend in middle school and he Had a 1st Gen JBL Xtreme and he would literally bring it to school on some occasions, if it wasn't for my old friend I wouldn't have discovered that a wonderful Brand like JBL Exists, I used to have a Charge 4 that I got for Christmas, it was okay tho, I didn't really like the fact that there was only One subwoofer powering the thing, but then i recently had Bought myself an Xtreme 3 Yesterday from Target and I got lucky too because there was only that One left on the shelf and I am very happy to have gotten one now I have louder Stereo sound and more of a Hands-Free experience compared to my Charge 4

I like the clip because of its clip but yeah it's too expensive to be worth it

Xtreme 1 is the boomiest out of them all but lacks some sub-bass and treble. It can sound a bit better with eq.

I have one and haven’t had an issue. My son uses it all the time for HS sports, doesn’t have an issue. It’s loud, bassy and clear, what more do you want from a Bluetooth speaker?!?

I have the original Extreme for at least 3/4 years and it sounds like day one, no battery issues. I'm thrilled with them, but let's face it...they sound good, but it's never been the best portable audio cuality. they are the best in portability, they are all-terrain speakers, they have excellent bass (not the best), good battery life and they also have a modern design that everyone likes. but really in audio there are better options in that price range. Harman Kardon, Marshall, Bosé, Denon, among others. even so, to take me with parties of friends or to the pool/beach, they seem to me the best option

Same here, had mine for over 5 years and it's still just as good as the day I bought it! Great speaker. Recently bought the Charge 5 for portability cause they added a tweeter. I will never own a JBL speaker without a dedicated tweeter cause they just sound so much more dazzling when they have them

I also had the battery issues... Twice. First time warranty covered it, so I got a new battery. Which recently started to die too. I've replaced it with 4 standard 18650 samsung batteries with new BSM and now it works again perfect. All cost me about 40 euros for the batteries, the BSM and labor to solder them. I then mounted it myself. Google it for a scheme.

A good end to this comparison is of you already own extreme 1 or 2 don't but the extreme 3 although extreme 3 has way clearer and deeper bass the difference in it isn't that big when listening

It's funny you say that bc the obe thing I don't really like about the Xtreme is it can be way too bassy at times and I'm a hardcore bass lover but it just drowns out some lyrics in certain songs. Also makes it horrible for using at low volumes or in small rooms I've tried to use it while I'm in the shower and and volumes that won't wake the house all you can hear is bass

Don't waste your money on xtreme 3 I already returned it. It is way too bright on the highs and has no bass. Xtreme 1 is still better than number 2 and 3 that's why you can buy xtreme 2 cheaper than 1 right now. I own 2 xtreme 1 and hands down way better bass then the other 2 JBL is slacking big time

Buy Sony srs-xb43, trust me its the best bass speaker ever , especially with new drives and twitters its the best, JBL became from best to worst when its comes to portable speakers, Jbl partybox is better but its Big and mostly for outdoors

Мне заходит xtreme 1, звучит огонь. Чувак, ты красавчик.👍 xtrme 1 изначально сделали максимально удачно, выжали из объёма корпуса и усилка все возможности. А вот все последующие xtreme 2,3 это уже попытка содрать кассу с покупашек, толком не меняя содержимого. Это как в фильмах- сериалах, первый сезон всегда самый интересный, остальные уже в догонку.

So i got 2 extreme 1s at the lesser price since the newer models are out. My 2 extreme 1s cost the same as 1 extreme 3. So i went with that. Did my research fully. I can upgrade in the future if i want. The features and sound are better on the extreme 3........but not worth double the price. And , imho, the extreme 1 sounds better than the 2, just me. THEYRE ALLL GREAT THUOGH!

To tell you guys it depends on how you used it. I have extreme and my dad brought it for me last 2017 and til now it works 100% good. Just dont use it when its charging and dont fall it on the ground that can helps your extreme live longer. I really love portable speakers thats why when i saw people using their portable speakers while charging it really feels my heart stub million times😔

Hi from Russia! Xtreme 1 is much better for Russian hardbass, i tested that personally, better than xtreme 1 sounds only the XB40 and BoomBox because all that speakers sounds more boomy, than xtreme 2 and 3!!! And after listening this compare video, i changed my opinion about this speakers. And from now wanna fix my xtreme 1, then buy new xtreme 3.

Thank you for doing this video!!! 6:37 this is exactly what I was thinking: the Xtreme 1 has only "high" bass (the lowest frequency is 65 Hz) and the Xtreme 3 has some true deep low bass (down to 53 Hz)

I have xtreme 1 and recently bought partybox 💯. Holy hell the sub-bass is insane there's that impact that you feel after every drum kick, and the upper range mids/treble are actually clear and makes xtreme 1 sounds muddy in comparison. That being said, xtreme 1 still sounds good with some treble boost eq for its size.

Bought an xtreme at the flea market for $25 with a bad battery. It came with a 5ah battery. Replaced it with a $25 10ah battery. Working and sounding like new.

I can't believe that they don't offer a small remote for changing the volume or jumping to the next song or muting it when you are several feet away. How hard and cheap could that be to accomplish that along with giving us an Equalizer in the App for Christ's sake!!! Unbelievable that they would have created such Great Products and then stumbled at the Finish Line!!! However, I am just Loving my new Extreme 2 with the upgraded firmware. This speaker is a lot louder than I thought it would be after reading some of the reviews but it rocks my world. LOL!!!

My Xtreme 1 suddenly broke. Wouldn't charge properly and kept switching on and off. It was still on warranty and I was able to swap it for Xtreme 3 for £100 and it was £249

Must be cheaper than that now I got the xtreame 3 last week£ 280 the xtreame 2 was £120 so the xtreame 1 must be £80 bucks or less new now if you can even buy it new now apart from online? The jbls were the knly ones in the sale's! The xb43 was down to £149 RRP I could have went for but the xtreame 2 was on display with it and kicked it butt! So went fornthe xtreame 3 as knew that would have kicked both! Love the xtreame 3 shape it does make a difference with them subs curving towards you stood up or up n out bouncing odd roof the sound travels! But it was tested in a new house so echo'd with nothing much in it but it was amazing to hear the difference in them with that new curved design!

You didn't take price into account, you can pickup Xtreme all day for $100 and X3 is $350 it may be better but is it really 350% better to justify that price difference? From what I heard it's probably 30-40% better tops while being over 3x the cost.

Sq on low better on extr 3 more deep then extr 1 hear on golden crate on bass guitar, mid more or less equal, high bit higher on extr 3 😊

You can buy new battery instead. Or swish LiPol with four 18650 batteries, and it will play even longer.

can you connect the charge4 to the xtrem 3? they sold one million charge 4 and that s one million charge 4 witch won t connect to the brand new xtrem 3... it s a scam, they should update juste like they did for the charge 3 to connect plus. And they keep selling both systems, there is no real reason bluetooth speakers shouldn't connect together... so buy xtrem 2 or 3 but get ready to buy a hole new set by the next upgrade... Jbl should react... i ll keep complaining until i can pair my 2 charge to my xtrem 3... what a waste... maybee next year it will be partyboost plus, and the app won t help you for anything at all.

I had the xtreme and it was fully charged and after playing music for a good 30 mins by the 20 min its shuts off the battery died its a battery issue yeah so buy a xtreme 2 or 3 or newer not the 1 bc the battery issue

Never heard you say you hate a speaker. Lol. My jbl flip 2 and out of nowhere through battery started to fail even though I always kept it in its hard case and never really charged it many times just the necessary and still didn't hated it. Jbl for headphones it's a no no. I do hate those.

I had to send mine back twice cos battery was faulty.on the 3rd one i decided to swop it forthe xtreme 2 and no issue with battery on xtreme 2..stay away from the original xtreme.

What do you mean don't buy the exreme 1? It is discontinued and hard to find brand new..It still sounds the superior speaker for bass, Aside from battery issue.

That "kick" is the speaker struggling to go below its 70hz limit.

@@dxrrxw That's probably because the kick (or punch) is sitting between 80 and 200hz. Anything below 80hz will be more and more rumbly, less and less punchy
