I drove JCBs in the UK from the early fixed boom models, JCB 3s and then an early release from the factory 3CX. Had a JCB engineer with me for a week making adjustments and doing tests. This went back to the factory and I got a brand new one and a box of JCB clothes. The points I liked best was the power slide on the boom enabled me to slide the boom in tight areas, before I would need to either pull out and set or if possible scoot the rear end across. This made for faster progress. The 4 in 1 front bucket, this allowed grading to within an inch. The company I worked for was one of the biggest UK contractors Sir Robert McAlpine and we were building an outer and inner ring road system, so the grading bucket allowed me to grade out smaller sections of sub base ready for asphalt laying. I never attended a car crash though I have assisted with slipped loads using the front forks. The police need to give you a set of blue lights and horns to get through traffic quicker. Well done and thanks for posting.

Meanwhile in the UK the road would be closed in both directions until private contractors with the proper equipment and police contracts could get there and recover the vehicles without causing extra damage causing disruption for hours. Meanwhile in USA the police department call for their specialist lift and recovery emergency response jcb in full highway patrol livery, when it arrives the cops get out and watch as the fire and rescue heavy lift and recovery jcb carries out the job. USA seems to have every bit of kit at every dept.

Good job. I would have dropped my wheel in the ditch and rolled while focusing on getting lined up with the wreck. I'm always surprised at how many little things my brain misses while operating the machine.

Great job. But the bystanders and drivers are something else. They really don't know how to keep safe distance. Glad in this case that everything went to plan and nobody got injured during recovery.

That was a great service to your community! Just a question, why couldn't the police give you an escort through the possible oncoming traffic side of the road? As no fault of your own a driver could have crashed into your backhoe because of poor awareness/driving.

I wish I could of had a JCB or anything similar on some of the recovery job's I've had to do when time is not on your side.

it is one thing to sit in traffic than to have a backhoe loader pass you going up the wrong side of the road (not saying bad loader driving but hate to be in one one those car stuck in traffic) may make me want to turn around find some other way round

Is it really that hard to just get a group of people to push some damaged cars out of the way? I mean if you can put them in neutral and they still roll just fine then 4 or 5 people could move the car without having to wait for a backhoe or any other vehicle to help move it.
