I don’t think so but if the engine crank has gone I would say the gearbox would be ok cos the engine is the problem. It’s a bit of a gamble but if you question the chap your thinking of buying it off about all the gears and if they were ok or not you might get a good deal, but be wary that it’s a gamble. Hi Sam, it depends in what money you want to spend. A friend of mine has just bought a 155/65 a few months back and loves it, it was around the £10.000 mark, you can buy them quite a bit cheaper but be careful of what your buying and go and try it out first, if your not careful you can buy a dog. If you have a bit more money than that to spend I would go for the next model 185/65 ( Cummings engine in those ) or better than that the 1000 or 2000 series as they had 3 speed auto shift, not 2 like mine and 4w steer on some ( very good ) also were very reliable. I would like a 3230 with auto console shift if I could afford it but I can't. I love my old 155/65 and it's in brill condition and would find it hard to part with it, but Thanks for asking. they are cracking tractors, cheap, fast and nice to drive on the road, but don't forget to check them out well or it could cost you big bucks. Robert Cegiel not when pressing the buttons as your driving along, but when your changing between gears with the gear-lever you already have the clutch pressed in as you change from 2nd to 3rd etc. If you mean changing ranges ( left hand side steering wheel 3 ranges ) always stop and use the clutch or you will damage the gearbox, hope this helps 😀👍
