In this video we dive into a very common topic of why a golfer might be experiencing pain when the add rotation in the downswing. This will lead many golfer to believe that their body isn't athletic or mobile enough to achieve more rotation, but in reality it's their golf swing that is holding back their rotational capability and causing pain.

Well ! Jonathan, I am just blown away with this video content. Fantastic amount of detailed information that I can adopt into my swing. I’ve subscribed to many web coaches over the years and none other can adequately explain the swing mechanics in relation to helping those of us with problems in our lower backs. I checked Sam Snead, and sure enough his posture was as you have described. Do not know why I did not see that years ago. I am now changing from my stance to the “legacy” stance posture you have described here. I already see improvement.

Very good and completely contrary to most of the advice given by the clueless teaching pro's of yesteryear. Back in the day I went for a lesson and got told that my posture was poor and to "keep your back straight, stick your bum out". I definitely need some lessons but because of this bad experience I haven't returned for any more punishment. 🤣🤣🤣

I've had pain for weeks at my thorasic spine/rhomboid on the upper back. It's a stabbing/sharp pain and I feel it the most when i breathe/Lay down. The pain comes from extending my arms during the swing, at the impact. And the impact itself, even when i pure the ball hurts those muscles, like they spasm. If I stretch my back alot Im good for 30 minutes without pain but it keeps coming back. Maybe I have to take a break from golf for a few weeks :(

I've started getting tennis elbow in my right arm (mostly at the range). Any ideas why? I have a strong grip and fast swing, using an extra stiff shaft that I just got (used to use stiff).

@@jchowngolf Yes, been hitting 120 balls per session of late. A lot of mid/long irons, hybrid and driver. Kind of answering my own question here. Haha

@@renegade2853 tennis elbow is an over use injury, so.... do with that information what you will lol But seriously. You are probably swinging to violently on the range. Try swinging 75 percent and working on tempo. The driving range is not a long drive contest. What's more when you are actually practicing something make sure you are properly using video to verify the changes. Slow and methodical. What helped me was saying "I am going to make this 100 balls last an hour", vs the 25 minutes that we go through them using rapid fire lol. Good luck

Do you have your important variables (square face, shallow shaft, hand depth and tilts) in place to be able to rotate?
