Well when I use to work for a farmer if I was not going to help them I would tell them in December that the way my daddy told me to do

In my world you give a guy a notice especially the way we treated him here. He not only done it to me but also Erin.

I’m a “DB” guy. We plant in to standing cover crops, and the wheels in between the row units crests a choke point. Those 1775’s are great though.

DB is nice we just have super narrow roads and we like the narrow transport as long as we have the tracks.

@@TheCropCritic farming is all context, you can’t make a how to text book on it. Hell, not only do I have different farms that need different things, I have fields that aren’t the same from one end to the other. It’s better to laugh it off and improvise than cry about it sir. People and politicians don’t know what we do. Keep showing them. I can hone in on so many things about your farm that impresses me. For example, your in furrow and 2x2, that is some Star Wars level ninja shit. You are not a moron “more on” farmer. You are getting what your crop will use in place right on time. I just love a great planter. It is the #1 best thing to blow money on. I could tune an old Walker John Deere to do just as good as an X-9 or S780, just slower. But a great planter is priceless. I could supercharge a 7200 tool bar with all the tech, but the bottom line, if you can only torque and twist on metal so much before it snaps.

My mind honestly thinks differently than most people meaning I’m always questioning everything I do. I just try to stay in my lane. There is no textbook way on how to setup a liquid system on a planter. It just comes from my head.

This video actually came from the farm I worked for straight out of school for 15 years! Woke up one day without a job because the bank foreclosed on him. I bought all the contents of that farm.

Get you some coyote machining gauge will arms. Will solve all of your gauge wheel arm issues. Had them for two years and love them 5:47

I looked at them just couldn’t make myself do it. I’m sure they are excellent though.

On your parallel arms, aren’t they called reaming kits. I have some in order from Shoup.
@TheCropCritic5 ай бұрын
Precision Planter solutions makes them. I buy direct from them but Shoup calls them reaming kits.

thanks for talking about your conceal fert openers i put jd liquid 2x2 on and they can be a pain! how does conceal handle residue? do they splatter fert all over your closing wheels

Fertilizer never touches any part of my planter. Fertilizer belongs in the ground at planting not on top. They will not perform correctly if you’re no tillage or have a lot of trash.

Put the R an Ks on an old 1750 6 row ,man I was afraid that might happen on the studs. Small ac planter he should be ok. I have put a lot of the parallel PPS kits on well worth the efforts ream kits !! Expedia 3.5mm blades I use dial indicator to ck wobble no more than 20000th. Sorry though John Deere’s original style gauge arms you know don’t last or hold tires up against blades like the should. Thanks for the video sir.

I’m not paying $75 to $80 a arm for one with a bearing here’s why. We get 4 crops out of a arm then replace them because of wear on the arm not the bushings. Cotton is planted extremely shallow so wear matter’s to me. It’s not economical to spend that on 4 crops then replace. I’ll buy the 40$ ones and throw them away.
@jonathanevans84165 ай бұрын
The coyote arms we have have a replacement where plate that the mustache touches on that can be replace

I noticed Integrated Ag Solutions sells parallel arms with sealed bearings,any thoughts?
@TheCropCritic5 ай бұрын
I’m sure they are fine. I just don’t like a bearing style because it could fail. My design completely changed my planter in regards on how it rides. Like I explained it’s a chrome moly bushing inside of another bushing. They are just as tight as when we installed them a year ago.
