JD Moco 1209 reel bushings repairs

Next time you need to do something like this, the bushings press into the housing, then slip over the axle as a unit. Thats why you had a hard time getting the housing over the bushings. I have a 1209 I just got for $1650 and thankfully everything seems tight, but I never let anything just feel right and will be taking it apart and inspecting everything to avoid what you have to go through.

But at the end of the day how has the 1209 treated you.?

Overall for the price we paid, which was $3500, 5 or 6 yrs ago, and what we have put it to it, about $5000. I had say it's a draw. It's cheaper then buying a new cutter at upto $30000 but it allows us generally to cut all of hay, but I have had to ask the neighbor to help, but that's farming

Curious cause i just got one for $1500.needs bearings in main drive otherwise looks very good.

@@terrymartin8352 if you have a smaller amount of grass hay land it will probably serve you well for years. I have 75 ac of heavy alfalfa grass mix and its borderline in the years with heavy rain fall

Yeah i don't do half that.just have a few horse's hate to buy it..and when all goes good..I enjoy doing hay.! Lol. Thanks for your response..and good luck.
