its understandable that you were confused about Marco, he didn't get much screen time (on first watch!). but if you rewatch season 1, you'll completely understand that flashback. not to mention the ridiculous amount of clues that the writer left about reiner-bert-annie being titans IN PLAIN SIGHT. This show has INSANE re-watch value.

Whoa, two episodes... Are we gonna get the trinity episodes next upload? 16:47 MARCO was Jean's buddy during training. Jean found Marco's dead body after Eren plugged Trost. We don't know at that time how he died. Portion of the same flashback was played during Season 2's Giant Forest conversation about Reiner's split personality. Reiner's friend MARCEL was the one that Ymir ate.

Bertolts words before he transforms have a lot more meaning than you might think. Hes been tasked with taking the coordinate and eliminating everyone within the walls. But he knows theyre not “devils”, to suggest he was told that they were, but by who you wont know at this point. Another thing is that bertolt accepts that he is a monster. He doesnt take pride in that, as previously shown in season 2, when he asks “who chooses to be this?” Despite knowing hes a killer and a monster, he accepts thats who he is, as nothing he can do can atone for the lives hes taken, all he can do is continue on the path he is on and wait to see how it ends. Referring back to his question on who chooses to be a monster, from bertolts clearly upsetting tone, it was a path that he didnt choose himself, meaning someone else thrust that path onto him. But if its something that you know is evil yet you still do it, a certain circumstance of your own must cause you to go down that path. I cant elaborate on any of these points further cause youll find out soon enough.

Marco was Jean's friend whose death caused Jean to choose the Scout Regiment back in Season 1. You aren't really supposed to know anything about Reiner's friend who was eaten by Ymir at this point in the story.

Erwin in the dub is also great, the voice actor plays erwin very well Also, its been established that reiner has a split personality, everything he does contradicts what he is. This was said back in season 2

In reference to the Japanese sub vs other languages, it is overall better for context, emotion, and thematics of the show with certain instances being paled by the english dub, they remain few (which isnt to take away from the dub as i beleive the did a fantastic job, contextual mesning is definitely lost due to translation though)

Naw, Erwin dubbed is far better. Far prefer Erens titan scream dubbed, as well. More primal/beastial, not trying too hard to be "deep". I'd say the dub is better overall, but the weebs will weeb. The characters are European lol they have no business speaking Japanese, except Mikasa. Even still, she'd still know something else like English.
