Picked up a T200 a few weeks back and am extremely impressed. It catches and plays with light like a perfectly cut diamond and is a joy to look at from every angle. The lume, while not overly bright, does seem to last all night long. The bluetooth feature makes setting it as easy as can be, though I would be totally lost if I had to set it manually :)

I've had my s100 for a few years and it has become my favorite daily wearer. I agree that if the t200 were smaller and titanium it would be the perfect replacement someday. Meanwhile, the oceanus has made me question a lot of my collection. So, maybe that is a point against it.

You read my mind Jody. I'd recently watched the videos you did on both of these watches and have had trouble deciding which is the better choice for me. I hoped you would do a direct comparison video and as usual you came through with excellent execution. There's a probably a case to be made to have both in the collection for different reasons but in the end you can't go wrong with either. Glad you found an Oceanus that wasn't all blue though! When I lived in Japan I was privy to hands on with the Oceanus line and they are all awesome, and mostly all blue.😆

When I started collecting watches, all of my "Grail" watches were Seiko. But when Seiko decided to leave the "affordable" watch world while simultaneously abandoning quality control, I started obsessing over microbrands. Nice one Jody! Don't own either but always leaned more towards the S100 so glad it regained some points at the end :) IMO the S100 has some more graceful curve sand proportions in the case, just a touch less blocky. @@andreidoanca4262 I'm the opposite, I prefer the more rugged look of the T200 but wouldn't be disappointed with either. Well done, Jody. I must say that I prefer the S100 stylistically over the T200, but it's so d@mn close. Small remark on the S100 bracelet, that one is also provided with two 2/3rd links (slightly bigger than half) for more fine adjustments than just the 2 holes in the clasp. Also, you need to get the clasp on the T200 checked, it's leaving way to much of a gap in the closed position.

Excellent review Jody. Well scored, however personal choice, I'd give more to the Stainless Steel, I'm not a Titanium fan, any I've had scratch too easily and look awful, even those hardened coatings wear off. It was a pleasure seeing both of these watches seconds hand hit most if not all of the markers though it looked like the S100 was hitting ALL the markers whereas the T200 missed quite a few at the top. I'd have equaled up the score due to that. Watching both however made me think of the Swiss made Tissot PRX I had, which only managed to hit two markers around the whole dial. Swiss does not necessarily mean good quality control or attention to detail. I like both but Stainless Steel is still my choice.

I thought the same thing about the seconds hand ticking precisely on the markers. I have a Casio Edifice "CasiOak", the number escapes me but it looks like a very slim, quartz AP Royal Oak, and the second hand hits most indices bang on. So... @@El1988Che I'm not so sure, a lot of people buy an automatic for the finish and craftsmanship while quartz are usually associated with cheaper, more affordable watches for the masses and I think it will always be that way. Over the last few decades more people have a more disposable income and quality of life than was previously the case so I think a lot of those people are treating themselves to a "posh watch", but when you can buy a quartz watch with this level of quality then people take notice. The Tissot PRX is one of the most popular affordable automatic watches of recent times but it's far outsold by the quartz version. I bought the T200 for £270 after almost buying the Longines Conquest at £1900 - the Casio was a no brainer.

Thanks for this rundown. I read somewhere that the S100 has the Zaratsu polishing, while the T200 does not. I have a T2610 with the Zaratsu polishing and it is very nice. Personally I don't like bluetooth features on my watches. It seems to be nudging into the smartwatch zone, but that is just my half-baked opinion. The world time feature of the S100 is also pretty cool. I think I will be going with the S100.

I have both and prefer the S100. The titanium is sooo comfortable, the S100 also in my opinion has the better movement. All the hands have their own independent motors. The T200 doesn’t. Either way, they are both great watches. They seriously question value of other watches out there 👍

Do you know if the s100 has a scratch resistant coating ? I keep thinking of getting the s100 but worried about the titanium scratching
@Theflyguy522
@Theflyguy522 5 ай бұрын
@@daveLin104 the S100 has a titanium carbide coating. It’s pretty good, but like all surface coatings it’s not impervious to scratches. Makes it a bit harder than standard steel, more scratch resistant than standard titanium 👍

@@daveLin104 I don’t think you would be disappointed. Case finishing is remarkable for the money. Only warning I would give (and this applies to the T200 also) is it only has one micro adjust position on the clasp, but, it does come with half links 👍

@Theflyguy522 thanks for the tip I didn't get why only 1 micro adjust I have a Khaki field auto with 2 and can't use bracelet due to it won't fit :( I like the 200 but too large for me, thanks again.

S100 is great in design and color. The only thing I appreciate from T200 is the coating on the crystal... I hate Bluetooth connection because is bi-directional and that means a little radio bombardier on your wrist (also, because of that, is not stealth). I prefer the one with RC, radio reception only... But again, S100 is great.

No idea why the same level of care and finish is not present in all watches. These Oceanus watches have super refined quality, as high as Swiss watches which cost more.

Regarding weight, I have a circa 2015 model Certina DS-1 ETA 2842 watch made in titanium. 39mm size, 11mm thick. Model number C0064074404100. I wasn't keen on the titanium bracelet which feels quite flimsy. Swapped it onto a "kuki-flex" leather strap and when I weighed the watch it was around 40 grams, Quite impressive for a mechanical watch and despite owning watches many times more expensive it is still one that I grab quite often. You hardly know it is on your wrist.

I've got to Respectfully disagree on a lot of the scores here. I understand a lot of this is subjective, but I think thestrongest disagreement for myself is the dial and hands, I think the 100 has to take it there. The text at the 6 position helps to make the dial more symmetrical and balanced due to the logo and writing at the top. The asymmetry and lack of any real writing on the 200 makes the dial visually unbalanced and very odd to me, as someone who on every watch I own has text at the 12 and 6
@severnsea3924
@severnsea3924 7 ай бұрын
As you say it's subjective but have the exact opposite view. I hate the text at the bottom of the 100 and it seems pointless and unnecessary to me. If it said something more relevant it might help but "Tough MVT" just sounds a bit crass to me. Just a shame they didn't put the date at 6.

If you are considering these great OCEANUS[ES?] there is also a T200SCE on EBAY with slate grey dial either on the same bracelet or a special pack with a black leather strap and grey NATO. I've also seen a T150 which has a different look again and 5mm of on the fly clasp adjustment.

The reason I would opt for the 200 is the dial color. Have enough black dials. Also the BT link. Otherwise I'd prefer titanium.

These are growing on me.. bit of a hard choice.. guess the stainless model t200 but also agree that it would nice if it was slightly smaller (and had crown guard, but standard 20mm lugs good). $550 AUD doesn't seem that great but a pretty good gada watch.

I'm really tempted, I own one of the cheaper radio controlled Casios and I've always wanted something that's as reliable but with a bit more of a premium finish. I just don't know if I could get over seeing "ANUS" on the dial.

I have a Citizen cb0030-56e that is about 8 years old. It's a titanium case and band, with no hardening on either the case or the band. And, it shows its age. I have some more recent titanium watches that have hardened coatings (both from Citizen and Oceanus) and they hold up well - scratches are almost entirely invisible. I think you'll be happy with the modern, hardened titanium watches.
