Jealous Lion Doesn't Want Brother Near Lionesses | Kruger National Park

Jealous Shitlhave Dam male lion doesn't allow lioness to get near his brother in The Kruger National Park, South Africa.
While we were at Shitlhave Dam watching the lions relaxing close to the water, we saw some of the other lionesses get up from behind the dam wall near by and come closer to the lions by the water. One of the lionesses approaches one of the males and that is when the other lion jumps up and a scuffle ensued between the two male lions.
Regardless the male lion followed the lioness but his brother was having none of that and proceeds to chase the lioness into the bush and marks the territory near her.
The lioness tried one more time to approach the lion but had the same thing happened again with the jealous male lion chasing her and his brother away.
The Shitlhave dam male lions are 3 brothers who are in coalition with the old Fourways way, holding the territory around Pretoriouskop. The Shitlhave dam brothers are one of the most impressive coalitions in Kruger currently all 3 males are equally impressive with beautiful manes. The two brothers in the video are inseparable and frequently found around the Dam, Fayi loop and Voortrekker road. Was amazing to witness this interaction between the two brothers even though they have the occasional scuffle their bond is unbreakable.

Spectacular sighting to see 2 of The Shitlhave Dam males♚❤️they boast an impressive size & physical prowess, handsome brothers. Relationships in a lion pride can be quite complex even between brothers who exercise dominant rights over the females. One Shitlhave Dam male was certainly jealous & obsessive warding off his brother & keeping an eye on the lioness who got busted every time😹Despite this they remain closely bonded, they are occupying a very beautiful territory & the pride look in good condition. Thank you so much, I appreciate it👏

I agree from a human standpoint, but male Lions live very different lives-- for one they have much, much more testosterone then us, and secondly, they have a very short window to mate and create cubs, 1-3 years before they're ousted from another coalition, and thirdly, they live much shorter lives. All of this results in a much stronger sex drive. A male Lion can mate all day for several days straight with a female Lioness on estrus. Or even the whole week just mating and sleeping if they have a large pride of Lionesses in heat. Testosterone also increases for male humans when around women and peaks during sexual intercourse. And idk about you, but when I'm in the mood, I don't want any man or woman cock blocking me-- can you imagine if you were a Lion?
