Baudrillard was so ahead of his time there was no way he himself could've predicted how ahead of his time he was

There is something truly terrifying going on with social media. Truly. We won’t know what till a few decades out. An almost total capturing by communication and imagery

As already mentioned by the commentator below, I am also surprised by his level of German language proficiency. Now, in 2024, for the Russian-speaking segment of philosophical thought, Baudrillard is not only someone who was significantly ahead of his time, but who also encourages thought to go further, to develop its horizon. In conditions of a strong shortage of sane theorists, Bordillard, just like Derrida, are beacons in a situation of strong uncertainty and instability. Thank you very much for the opportunity to watch the interview. p.s. in the background there are very nice young people.

i wish i could've been of age to appreciate his works when he was still alive. his works significantly changed my views on the world at a time where I thought nothing could shake the conviction i had; but he did, effortlessly

Baudrillard, you are missed. As hyperbolic as his comments might seem, I agree with him: we must preserve the ability to die, in the era of ‘life-extension,’ ‘death-anxiety,’ and the absolute ‘avoidance of death.’ The true attainment of tranquility in a society that flees from death is the freedom to die! To anyone who has read Lucretius or Seneca, this will most likely ring true.

I wonder who the two nobodies are who keep smirking and rolling their eyes behind him. Where are they now? Oh, wait. They have achieved immortality in the background of a Baudrillard video.

By referring to people simply going about their lives you reducing their existence to mere consumable types of media for your own entertainment. Notice how you are idolizing Baudrillard in this instant. Me thinks you are the clone Baudrillard was referring to.

Can't even watch. How pretentious must you be to perform an interview in a public restaurant? No wonder all those present as so uncomfortable, as it would be if you had to be exposed to some jackasses rambling on and inadvertently filming you from another table. How interesringly hypocritical the lot of PostModern philosophers were to not adhere to any sort of regularory initiatives in the face of the problems they rightly critiqued in their personal lives.
