Hi Sam, I am in my late 50s and just took up perfumery as a hobby. On your recommendation I bought both the books you recommended by Ellena. I have a few reservations about these books as they have many shortcomings. He completely omits oud in both the books, and apparently Somalia is in the North western africa. Honestly I learn more from your videos than these books.

Great little tip there about the cinnamon Sam. Didn't know about the mango accord either! But yeah, galbanum definitely a key component in that tomato leaf accord. With the global climate changing as it is, I certainly think that knowledge and appreciation of the botanical aspect of the industry can give us some much needed perspective. Perhaps even direly so.

I need some help with using saffron. I’ve made something I really adore but the saffron leaves stains on clothing and skin. Is there a way I can prevent the staining without diluting?

Try something like saffranal, a synthetic. Natural saffron has a strong dye as part of it.
