This is NOT a meltdown! This is a Real Man who gave his life to an industry that turned around just to spit in this man's face! I'm crying over here with you bro your an inspiration to us all! I don't think Mr. Damme has any clue how many lives he will save thanks to this act of bravery. We just seen one of the strongest men alive be brought to his knees by Hollywood and he didn't have to share this personal moment with the world but he did! 🙏 Peace and Blessings to you and your family brother! ❤️

This so broke my heart. He's such a good man, and his wife she's so great to support him after all they've been through. God bless. I hope he can get through his tough times, and can defeat the regrets and demons that try to still take him down.

This is old and yes he has made a comeback of sorts. He had great success with the film jcvd and Amazon prime picked it up and in 2018 another 5 episode series of jcvd kind of doing the same thing. He pokes fun of himself now and would admit he was to old to play a young mans role. Jcvd was really down on himself prior to the 2008-2018 amazon run. He had 9 or 10 straight to dvd b rated movies and wanted a chance to redeem himself and show a deeper side of who he is. Acceptance has clearly been something he has worked hard at because he really plays up being a aging action star who is washed up in his recent projects. The jcvd had a 6 minute monolog in French were he really told the truth about his failures and what went wrong. He accepted that he was the reason for his own demise. That 6 minutes were he even cried showed more emotion than all of his movies combined and really proved he is more then just a action star.

I love the fact that he tells you what is in his heart, and he is not scared to show his emotions. He is not fake and puts on a show But himself. I also love how he comes back to his wife and hugs her. She is also very loving. I have always loved Van dam growing up. My husband even looks like Van dam. They could look like twins. God bless you Van dam. None of us are perfect. Keep your eyes on our loving God and Saviour Jesus Christ. Don't worry about Hollywood.

Man he is one of my heros. You see people fall off a cliff from drugs all the time but this one always stings for me. What a career he could have had without the nose candy. No point in even making another bloodsport without him in it, nobody will watch it.

Dear Gladys, you are a wonderful supportive loving person and you really are in our hearts we love you even more for supporting our hero Jean-Claude through all his hard times. If you ever read this I just want to tell you thank you. I admire you just as much if not more, than Jean-Claude your husband, because you are both kind people with good hearts and you worked hard in achieving professional success and you did it, both. I seriously dislike body building, but I know you were a champion there I looked it up many years ago when they showed a picture of you that you were his wife. Thank you. I wish you both happiness and a strong faith in God.

I will always admire JCVD cause he's real. I am happy that he was reconciled with his ever supportive, kindhearted wife Gladys. .Afterall, faith in God and family are the true source of joy and peace. You are so great, Jean Claude. This reminds me of your incredible show of real emotions in JCVD when you allowed us to see you, raw, in that sensational piece where you were elevated and shared with us how you really felt, no BS Hollywood pretense. Absolutely gut raw confessions. I was completely absorbed, then, as I am now, watching this. You are royalty. I, a random human on the internet thank you for allowing me to see you like this. It is better than any CGI or script-written BS. You are an incredible human being and have always been screen royalty but to see you give us really emotions makes me love you even more. Thank you JCVD.

Only a man with a huge heart can show emotions like this, and I am glad he is a strong believer also, the stronger the faith you think you have, the harder god will test you to see if you are right. Many think turning to god is the easy way to escape life, but it is the opposite, when you really want to walk with god then the really uncomfortable stuff start to happen. If you are reading this Van Damme, don't forget that god put you through everything, don't think only the good was gods work.

Well, I did not expect to ugly cry as hard as I did but here we are. Like many of you, I grew up with JCVD films, and he was my inspiration to start martial arts as a child. This isn't a meltdown; it's a human being dropping the facade and embracing their emotions. Vulnerability is a highly attractive human quality.

It’s been years since I’ve had the joy of watching Bloodsport. I loved that movie and after watching Jean’s Conan O’ Brian interviews it made me look up Jean on KZfaq because I never looked up his interviews or Bio. After seeing this, I find I share the experience of battling some similar battles in my personal life. I’m writing this because I wish I could tell Jean, “You were my first hero that I saw as real growing up as a kid, and you cured a lot of my feelings of loneliness when my parents worked late nights as a kid. Thank you Mr. Van Dam.”

It takes tremendous courage to be vulnerable like this, in front of others. I've been rediscovering JCVD and his work, the movies that inspired my love of action movies and complex heroes he embodied more than not. To be honest, his performances always had this core to them for me. Passion and conviction and tenderness. That's WHY I valued him, then and now, and indeed what the machine uses against him, imo. He will always hold a place in my heart, as one of the greats. We all have demons and shortcomings, and most of us don't have them in a fishbowl for all to see and judge. I hope he has found peace. He deserves better than he got. But he's still standing and trying to do better and making films. Proud of him. 💗

I just found this video today. Van Damme is amazing here. If this very video was a scene in a movie he would deserve an Oscar. But this is real life, real passion. Any independent film company would do well to work with this man and legend.

To be honest, he has the best most natural and athletic body without any steroids. You can see it from his body as he is not huge all of a sudden. He has maintained a consistent body over the years and this is the template athletic body. His body is probably a good reference point for athletes.

what van damme did was very impressive, up there with bruce lee and arnold, but people still treat him like a joke, he gave us so many fun action films, there's a lot of action stars but his films were all straight up simple small underdog good guy vs bad guy ala fistacuffs and when you were done watching them you wanted to punch and kick a bag or run or whatever, they inspired you to get off your butt like the rocky films

My hero my dad got me into van dam movies as a kid and I was in all hes my sec hero. His movies got me through tough times growing up. In a documentary once I saw van dam loves animal's so much in his home country he bought a house just for his animal's and he would take homeless dogs off the street and give them food and take them in as his own. If that doesn't show the heart of this man idk what does. So what he had demons we all have but he clearly loves to entertain us and make movies for us and this emotion we seeing proves that. I know the who saying don't meet your heros but id give up everything I own to shake his hand and tell him how much I appreciate him. We love u van dam ❤
