His black-and-white features emphasize shadows and inclement weather, while a stark palette of blues, greens, and browns characterizes his color movies. Movies highlighted in this reel: "Le Samouraï," "Army of Shadows," "Le Cercle Rouge," "Les Doulos," and "Bob le Flambeur."

He really let the Images sink in to your brain. He really had a great style of directing. It was always about characters and motivations, the story wasnt "that" important. Great Video and fantastic music.

A superb video dedicated to my favourite film maker of all times, Jean-Pierre Melville. Hollywood invented the film noir genre, Melville just gave the final magic touch!!!!

He become the envy and hate of France studios, half close or working part time. His studio was the target of an arsonist pay by one of those studio owners and/or actors.
