Nicely put. I have a lot of the same feelings. My favorite Star Wars game is the first Force Unleashed and I was actively thinking if this may top that throughout playing. This is what I call a GAME. In its truest form. Fantastical story that provides moments of levity and SINCERE strong emotions. Other games try to mimic that to no avail. This game allows its moments to breathe and you can really tellwhen Cal is thinking. The gameplay and worlds provide wonder and a lot of exploration. Don't want to get all into it but yeah...loved it. A cool parallel that popped in my brain while playing is the situation with Bode and his daughter. Normally, like something in the Last of Us, we would be rooting for Bode to win. It's cool to now have this perspective on the flip side. Playing with Cal the entire time and witnessing his journey and experiences and how he thinks what Bode is doing is ultimately the wrong decision. Then we are rooting for Joel to protect Ellie in the Last of Us. Pretty interesting.
