I am a gladiator and I just purchased an Intech trailer. I also RTT. I think it good to have both if you can. I would have base camped the trailer on proven ground and RTT a few days (Going back to ensure base camp was secure of course). NoBo's are clearly not a true off-grid camper. A patriot trailer would have been great for this as well.

Dang! But how what the Mojave on the trail? I imagine it was a dream to drive. On some trails I go a little quicker than I should and the resulting personal earthquakes makes me yearn for that Mojave suspension.

Thank you. I've been more than pleased with this setup. The Pintler wheels almost look like 15's which gives the impression the tires are larger than they are.

Just recently bought Pintlers for my JK after running stock wheels with spacers for many years since I could never decide what wheel I would like the most. Finally saw these and just had to have them. My stock Moab style wheels had some pretty nasty rock rash on them but so far these Pintlers have been keeping themselves away from the sharp ones a bit better.

I've seen several people using them lately but I've yet to hear how they hold up over time. I like the idea though.

Ha! It's a balance for sure. You don't want to be the guy always asking to borrow stuff, either. On a recent trip I forgot my silverware and in a fit of stubbornness I ate my steak like a dog, not wanting to bother my friends for spares.

I'm aware of the wide availability of true off-road campers. I simply don't like having the liability of such a large piece of gear in tow. There's a lot riding on its reliability and I'm not one to chance it (yet).

We explored FR 1530 and the basin SE of Horseshoe Reservoir. Tonto National Forest is massive. Looking at it on a map we saw a sliver of the area. What brand of cases do you use?

Ha! The camper technically did what it was supposed to do, albeit begrudgingly. Bonus- towing it there he got as low as 9.5 mpgs. The Gladiator continues to surpass my expectations. I really thought it was going to be a sled on trails but I've been proven wrong again and again. It's simple, tough, and capable.

It's not bad at all unless you have the soft top which rattles at highway speeds.

The camper owner is raising the spare bracket so it's not a problem anymore.

​@@Berserkeroffroad Any TV/ trailer has limitations compared to a the capability of a non-towing TV but some campers are way more capable than others. You guys simply found what those limitations were for the No.Bo and both of you are correct. He can choose to modify his TV and/or camper to go more places or accept those limitations and tow it only on the trails it works. Some people love RTTs and others hate them. To each their own. More importantly, awesome video!!!! Love that you guys went out and gave it a go. Now people that want to buy the No.Bo have a lot more info. BTW, I also own a Gladiator Rubicon...serious off-road vehicle! Gave up my wrangler JKUR because I needed more tow capacity. Sad day but very pleasantly surprised with how fun the Gladiator is. The other trucks in your video were nice, too. Just like overlanding with or without campers, there are a lot of great off-road trucks out there so people should buy what fits them best.

Tow vehicle is not a problem, not sure why that keeps getting mentioned 🤨 slight trimming on a flare and everything clears. NoBo does have a lot of boundaries (pun intended) which were touched on in this video! With that said, Forest River taunts 10 series No Boundaries (cute name right) as on offroad trailer... its not. Its a basic trailer with offroad looking tires, roofrack, cardboard bottom, paper thin c-channel frame etc… which im fine with, i knew what i bought when i bought it and i was fine with paying $12,200 for a brand new cute offroad’ish looking trailer as it is, ive had many many great nights in it! I use is just about every week. Bigger tires on a trailer is not an option as it sits. Slide out kitchen/stove/pantry etc is at where its at and was designed for the height it sits at. Raising a trailer will make all those unusable, I’m 5’9” … its just not an option. One option I thought about is A frame suspension arms with airbags so i can lower it when its set up. But again… how much do i want throw into a mass produced crappy forest river product va just building my own from scratch.

They're custom-made, but any operation with a CNC and brake press can knock them out. All I had to do was trim the foam under the Bestop rails.

Thanks! Yes, stock suspension with 35s. My wheels have the right backspacing to tuck the tires into the fenders when flexing. Some wheels don't allow for that. I love the Rubi and would only get a Mojave if I were spending a lot of time in dunes.

Shhhhhh- don't tell the owner that. He said the only difference between the ZR2 and Bison is the Bison has steel bumpers (and worse approach angle). But thank you for catching my mistake, keeping me honest, and for deciding to sub!

This was on forest roads to the south of Horseshoe Reservoir. Check the forest service for the latest MVUM. There are frequent road closures because of fires and large groups without permits gathering and messing the place up.

And the pinstriping _mostly_ came out. Ironically, I put vinyl decals on my Jeep in places I commonly put a GoPro to project the paint.

Right now it's a mix between manual and auto, depending on the situation, environment, and if I'm handing the camera off to someone else. I shoot as much as I can in manual mode so I control the exposure. It's tricky shooting a black truck against a bright sky and setting the exposure manually ensures I put emphasis on the right spot. Many of the shots were from a DJI Osmo Pocket and I left it on auto. Unfortunately the camera internally set an odd white balance that shifted the footage to red. I gave those shots a rough grade to pull back the red but they're nowhere near perfect. Lesson learned- I need to manually set that white balance next time. My primary camera is a Canon XF400. Since this trip I discovered it has a "Wide DR Gamma" setting that allows me to shoot in a pseudo-log format. It requires more post work but it give me more dynamic range. Thank you for asking!

@@Berserkeroffroad You did a great job with whatever video/pic challenges you faced. Have you ever tried a gopro mounted on a gimbal or did you go straight to the DJI Osmo Pocket?

@@BigDaddyMuddzy yep I used to have a GoPro on a gimbal. The stabilization on the GPH8 and 9 is stellar. I now use a GP360 with a suction mount on my truck (or magnet mount for under).

My main camera is a Canon XF400. I also use a GoPro Max and a DJI Osmo Pocket. I have a drone but I'm not using it until I get my part 107 license.

Cool. I’m using a GoPro 7 black but might look in to the Cannon. I also have a mavic mini and that thing is awesome.

A nimble utility trailer might be the way to go if you have a lot of gear. My beef on this trip was with my buddy's camper. Two years ago I went on a "rocklanding" trip and it was the worst of both worlds. I realized I needed a more robust suspension setup to handle the abuse. I also doubt people pay any attention to their payload. I had a JTR and I was surprised to discover the cargo area had less depth than a JK. I think Jeep moved the rear seats back a few inches, which took away from the available space.

@@Berserkeroffroad You are correct, people get gear hungry in overlanding and overload. You still need to keep the principles of backpacking....if you had to lug it on your back...would you take it. Instead of acquiring more overlanding gear I’m on a mission to see what the least amount of stuff I can get away with and still be comfortable on the road. Egg yokes are often cited as unhealthy because of their cholesterol. They're high in HDL cholesterol which recent studies show isn't harmful. Anecdotally, for over a decade I've eaten 12-18 eggs a day. Combined with my active lifestyle, my cholesterol levels are close to perfect.
