One of the fastest SUVs in the world! In today's video, we take the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk for a spin on one of Sydney's great roads to find out if this American crossover can handle sporty driving in Australia. With a 6.2-litre HEMI V8 under the bonnet and absurdly awesome supercharger whine, this is one cool car. In this video, a review of the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, Tom drives this Jeep crossover, looking into its dynamics, luxury, practicality and value for money.

Simon Wright absolutely right my friend... they could make it 10 yrs warranty and it would still have issues after that. Open disclosure I have the WK2 Laredo 4x4 ( this was the model in ‘13 that the track hawk pictured here copies her looks from) the car on day 01 had issues with the ZF8 which have not or will not be fixed. The cost to conduct servicing I might as well have bought something exclusive (1K services aplenty)and before you complain my car in 5 yrs of owner ship has done less than 40K (but I am paying for the 100k service )

For a car with this performance it is very good value, as quick as a Porsche or a Nissan GTR at half the price, can put the whole family in it and go on a holiday and can even hitch up a caravan if you like, try that with all those other performance cars.

Tom. From your concluding remarks about this 'over the top' SUV, I reckon, you've totally nailed it. And I agree. There's a demographic for this, even if both the potential buyer group & the Jeep are each a bit rough around the edges. It (the Jeep) is indeed, a great "Piss Taker" for 'taking it out of that other demographic' who lease or buy huge BMW SUV's & other German bullyboy cars.[ps. once, whilst living in "The Sates' we had an 8 litre Mercury Grand Marquis 19.5 feet long limo like car. Just the size and grunt (admittedly less than your's, but plenty then) of that aggressive V8, with all the accouterments of a lounge on wheels, felt like 'something else again'.]

I have a 2014 Jeep srt8 since new, not going to lie, i had to have the entire motor replaced due to failed cams in mid 2019... but, with Australia’s Consumer Laws, had the motor replaced completely free of charge. Now, I’m looking at getting another car, and here lies the problem: there’s NO other car on the market for the price, that’s as quick, with as many creature comforts (heated/cooled seats, leather, driver assist etc) AND that can do 0-100 in 5 seconds... as for the SRT Supercharged track hawk, here’s the market: SRT supercharged 8 speed auto, trackhawk: $148,000 BMW X6 4.4ltr v8 twin turbo 8 speed auto (a tad slower) $180,137 Mercedes Benz EQC400, 1 speed fully electric (almost as fast) but a smaller car... $148,333 Mercedes Benz GLE63 AMG 5.5ltr V8 Twin Turbo 7 speed auto $227,994 Either you pay tons more for something similar with a “better” brand name, or go completely electric, and miss out on that sweet sweet rumble of a big v8 rolling off at school Puckup! 😆 It’s the old triangle theory: Fast, cheap, reliable. You can only pick two, and miss out on the third...

I had a jeep Grand Jeep Cherokee about 10 years ago. I loved that car, comfy seats, loud engine, great for road trips. However it broke my heart too many times from its reliability issues. Fact - most of the hawk’s interior material used are the same you will find in porche cayenne, Alfa and Maserati levante. Yes, I test drove all and couldn’t justify their hefty price tag and they all drove almost the same. In terms of fine finish, one can’t expect that from Jeep- but then where you get it, you aren’t getting that for free- you are paying over the top for it.

JEEP & Harley Davidson Adventures, Australia - You spelled Porsche incorrectly. As a journalist, you should fix that. It’s a pet peeve of mine when so called journalist and bloggers who should have some sort of educational degree in literature or writing have poor grammar unless they are automotive engineers turned writers. But still, in the day and age of autocorrect, it should be better. Looking past that, I disagree that they all drive about the same. Although I have not driven the Maserati, I have driven the Jeep, Alpha Romeo and the Porsche. If you are truly an automotive expert and not a novice, you can feel and tell the difference. My opinion is no better than yours, but I believe that the Alfa Romeo and Jeep share a similar choppy and slightly unsettled ride. The more upscale and high priced Porsche Cayenne has a much better ride and feels more stable and less than perfect pavement. I agree with you that it comes at a different price point that is to be expected. Having leased a Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit and a Porsche Macan Turbo back to back for two years each, I believe that the Porsche is built with better materials and its long term fit and finish is apparent over time with less creaks and rattles in the interior at the end of 20K miles in two years. Better material isn’t always felt. It’s also what’s underneath. High tensile strength steel versus mild steel and things like carbon fiber versus fiberglass or plastic are good examples of materials that you don’t feel inside the cabin of a vehicle that make the difference any vehicles strength and rigidity that affect the ride and handling. Higher quality insulation means that thinner insulation can be used which would increase interior or cabin space without increasing the size of the vehicle. You don’t find things like that on lower cost vehicles. As a journalist, you should consider these things and maybe objectively inform your readers. Let people form their own opinions based on facts and not just your opinion and personal feelings of a product. That is the difference between your review and quality journalism. And for the record, for personal reasons I prefer the Jeep Grand Cherokee line over the competitors that you have mentioned in your response. My next vehicle will be a 2019 Cadillac CTS-V (if I can find a new unsold stock in the United States) or a Jeep Grand Cherokee Track hawk if I can’t find a CTS-V in two months when my current lease is up.
