On the portrait view of the head unit it makes you think it blocks the air vent , during installations it’s clear that there’s a good gap between the head unit and the vent . Great installation videos as always and excellent review videos . Number #1 KZfaqr for me

I love this. I was looking around recently for something like this then stumbled upon your video and I just bought a 2011 wk2. It needs new headunit this seems like the best upgrade and video. The one thing is I don't like the microphone placement. Will think of another idea but I am going with this upgrade. edit. Also can see you are a snob because you don't like my comment.

So what you are saying is the 360 degree system does not need the reverse wire connected, but the normal reverse camera needs the reverse wire hooked up as on there diagram supplied. I have started the install firstly the two mirror cameras and the front camera also the drive cam, all pretty easy just a little fiddley and Thanks for your help, do you know much about the Jeep premium audio system, as I am considering getting all of the speakers working with crossovers and such, I just need if all output channel go the jeep Amp at the rear of the car than out to the speahers?

The website claims it doesn't support the radar system (it also claims heated steering wheel isnt which ive seen you've confirmed still works), do you remember if radar features, mainly the adaptive cruise control, still works? This and the review has convinced me to buy, provided i can still use ACC, is the link in the video an affiliate?

I have yet to see a Teyes CC3 installed in a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which is what I own. Although the listing on Aliexpress shows 2013-2020, it also states it's not compatible with my 2020 Grand Cherokee. Furthermore the 2013 dash is different than the 2014-2020, so I don't know what's going on there.

Hey @Saab Unleashed, I'm planning to install this unit next week on my 2013 Jeep GC Laredo and your video has been incredibly helpful already. Question: Did you have to remove all of the trimming to get the old camera out like in the 2014 Jeeps? Videos on replacing cameras on the Jeeps are very limited. That was great advice about gluing the new camera in, what glue did you use if you don't mind me asking? 👍

Hello, thanks for this video. I have a 2016 US-Spec Limited with the 9 speaker alpine system. I see the canbus control options are integrated (vehicle-specific light options, etc) but I am wondering if the OEM “surround sound” option for audio remains intact or if that is sacrificed when installing this head unit. Also this has android auto and Apple CarPlay integration built-in correct? Or do you need separate USB-hubs and wiring to enable this? For upgraded UCONNECT with CarPlay it requires a new USB-hub so I am wondering if that applies here as well

I would like a USB port, reversing camera capability and just an alround good unit. What would you recommend? Budget would be £225-350ish. I Google'd your dashboard. It looks like you can install any double din head unit so you have loads of options. I can't really tell from imaged on google whether you can have an oversized unit (over 7 inches) because it looks like the dashboard around your radio seems to protrude out into the cabin. I got a few reviews coming up for the latest Atoto, Xtrons and other brands if you're not interested in the ones I've already reviewed

Did you have any trouble getting all the speakers working? I emailed a question to the company about compatibility with the 10 speaker premium stereos which im sure your Overland has like mine. Hi l have just purchased the same system for my SRT8 and l believe it has 13 channels, so l hope it all works ok, i would find your amp at the rear right side of car l think find all the inputs and find out how many, trace them back to the head unit, if any are missing, find out what they are, and you may need to parallel some outputs from the head unit to amp, just make sure you keep the impedance correct i.e. 4 ohms or 8 ohms. I am hoping to do a video as well ans see what l find. Thereis a little tester you can get from Jcar that sends a tone to your speakers.

After some extensive research, I found the answer. The grey 10-pin connector is from the UConnect hands-free Bluetooth Module (if it is installed in your car). In order to use the OEM microphone, you cannot just use an adapter for this 10-pin connector, but you need to lead mono-jack wire to the UConnect hands-free Bluetooth Module, that is usually installed in the A column, and tap into the microphone wires connecting to the UConnect hands-free Bluetooth Module there.

Why would you add and use the cheap aftermarket GPS when you've already got a more robust, reliable factory GPS mounted in the car? Just get an adapter for the blue FAKRA-C connector and hook it into the SMA connection on the head unit. Done. Also, for the reverse camera you can use the factory one with these aftermarket head units. Just go to your vehicle's wiring diagram, find the + and - wires for the composite signal, attach to an aftermarket RCA connector (they usually have two screws, one for each wire, making connection a breeze) and plug that into the yellow RCA input on the aftermarket unit. That way you don't need to wire in a second camera; and if your OEM guide lines moved with steering input, they continue to do so.
@SaabUnleashed
@SaabUnleashed 15 күн бұрын
I agree with the GPS, that is a better way. With regards to the reverse camera, the factory one was terrible quality and I purposely replaced it for this reason. The new one still has lines that move with the steering wheel but in glorious 1080p

Looks good! Were you able to retain the 7.1 surround-sound that comes stock with the Overland and the Alpine 10-speaker system? You can use the OEM GPS antenna built into the roof-mounted antenna. Just buy a FAKRA Z to SMA adapter for about $5 USD on Amazon. You can also use the OEM rear-view camera from C3 with the proper adapter. You should also be able to utilize the U-connect microphone in the rear-view mirror by tapping into the C1 connector that was previously connected to the Harmon/Becker 730N that you removed. Perhaps this "manufacturer" has released a more mature product (the plastic looks more robust than the "Tesla" style large-screen units currently available). One point on the + side for this unit; the chrome trim-rings on the HVAC ducts are retained. Others require its removal, allowing the vent to more easily be damaged during installation. Does the canbus box provide for RAP (reserved accessory power) to allow the unit to play after the ignition is shut off? Is there a reverse-camera trigger coming out of the canbus box (that trigger is apparently present on the canbus, but many of these inexpensive canbus boxes don't provide a wire to connect to the head-unit "Back" trigger input). Does the system turn-on with remote-start?

The unit is 5.1 channels. Agree on the gps antenna, but it's no bother to place the aftermarket one and not have wo wait for parts. @@Xrayg219 There is an adapter from PAC that provides for retaining the rear entertainment system from the factory. That adapter includes a connector for the rear camera. Or, you can purchase a dedicated (single-cable) adapter. Unfortunately, you would then have to cut-out the bottom of the adapter as everyone appears to supply the wrong OEM mating plug; the factory radio has two similar connections with different "keys" to keep them from getting mixed-up. You have to cut out the "key" channels in the dedicated adapter as it comes with the wrong connector. This is what I had to do.

Nice car. I installed the hd reverse camera which I glued into the same location as the factory one. You probably won't be able to do that with the 360 system because it will likely be at the wrong angle, so just mount the rear camera under the licence plate light trim. The rear camera has a red wire for connecting to reverse lights on older cars. You won't need to connect that because the Jeep has CANbus recognition of reverse

Hi Adam, I would advise that you pop the Teyes guys an email asking them about compatibility with your vehicle. I'm pretty sure it's supported as Citroen is one of the options in the menus of the unit I have, so that would mean steering controls ect will work. You'll probably still need an external mic though - but email them and find out. You'll also want to know if they include any dashbaord facias to make installation into your van easier. With regards to your question on Android Auto - that has nothing to do with your head unit, it is all streamed from your phone. Also if you have a head unit like this, you may find that you don't want to use Android Auto because it's better to use it without (you can install TomTom directly onto the unit, for example)

This is normal and no different from any of the other head units I have reviewed. As for the factory reverse camera, it's not going to work out of the box.
