Jeep JL Cooltech CB Antenna Mount Install

Күн бұрынA rainy day is the perfect time for an easy activity like installing the Cooltech Jeep JL CB stainless steel CB antenna mount. I mount this onto my Granite 2018 Jeep Wrangler JLU Moab Edition. This is a very simple install and only takes about an hour to complete if you take your time and clean all the hard to reach spots while you are doing the install. Only basic tools are required with maybe the exception of the T55 bit which you can pick up at any hardware store or auto parts store.

Very nice video! Thanks. Did you consider trying to install any additional grounding for the mount/antenna?

mazeman01 thank you for watching and commenting! I didn’t consider additional grounding with this kit. It does a good job isolating the antenna and cable connections. I never had an issue/problem with grounding.

Excellent video!!! Do you notice any reception issues with the antenna mount on the lower hinge? I have the same overhead clearance issue on my garage.

Shawn C I appreciate you watching and commenting! Thanks for the kind words. I have not noticed any signal issues due to the location. It’s obviously not optimal but range has been just fine for staying in communication with your friends on the trail.

@@QuickShifts I don't think it matters on the Jeeps the roof is fiberglass or soft top, no way of achieving a ground plane.

Talez From the DashCam true, the hinges and rear window hardware is metal but doesn’t seem to cause any issues.

What size Allen wrench for the cool tech hinge bolts?

Michael Sztajer the cool tech are 6mm Allen head. The Jeep bolts are TT55 torx . Hope that helps.
