Jeep Meridian vs Toyota Fortuner: Comparison Review

Over the years, a few carmakers tried to squeeze into the 7-seater full-size luxury SUV space like the Mahindra Alturas G4, MG Gloster, and even the Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace for that matter, but none managed to dent the supremacy of the Toyota Fortuner. The Ford Endeavour gave the Fortuner a tough fight for the longest time, before the company bowed out of the scene entirely, leaving the full-sized SUV segment to this Goliath. In comes the Jeep Meridian, a David in the truest form, with strong Jeep DNA, off-roading credentials and not to mention a distinct design that makes the American carmaker’s version of a 7-seater SUV stand out in a very sensitive segment. But can this David take on the Goliath?

I bought the Meridian... The middle row in Meridian is much much more comfortable than fortuner... No one talks about the body roll in fortuner in middle n last row.. agree to cupid007 completely...

Few things missed out on the review 1) Fortuner 3rd row does have a feature of reclining and 2nd row can be slide forward and backward 2) Legender does come in 4x4 At trim as well along with 4x2 AT 3) Legender has the same power and torque output as the regular Fortuner AT 4) No talk about the gearbox and ease of use of paddle shifters 5) The video was too slow had to watch at 1.5x speed 6) You didn't mention the price of the both the cars as tested, i.ethe price difference is around 3 lakhs between both the models 7) You forgot to compare the boot spaces of the both the cars

I bought the Meridian and family absolutely loves it ! Kids are comfy in the 3rd row . The car gets into its own after 80kmph. Ride quality at high speeds is awesome ! Would have been better if it had a bit more power- 200 bhp and the gearbox could have been tuned a bit better as it seems confused at times... But it's worth the money for a family living with 2 small kids and grand parents...

I bought meridian and is way better then fortuner steering of meridian is very free compared to fortuner and features are more in it and the feel is very luxury in meridian

Very nice video although the delivery could have been a bit more enthusiastic. Fortuner is extremely overpriced for those dated interiors. Just power and reliability isn’t everything. Power to weight ratio of Meridian is actually better than Fortuner. Only reliability seems to be an issue. But at a price difference of about 10l, Meridian is a clear winner

With Fiat Diesel engine, Jeep has far better engine than a Toyota diesel , which is too large for the power it delivers Since Innova Days Toyota is building reliability first performance second engine and has been pretty successful, with Jeep , you get Fiat -Chrysler legendary performance and reliability together

CnB need a new anchor,, he is too slow and very plain to hear. Very bad in editing as the slow pitch has extended the video by minimum 5 minutes atleast. Never seen such shabby video from CnB before

You need to get your facts straight.. legendar is available in 4×4 too.. plus some parts of the review are rather confusing..can't really determine if it's good or a bad thing on some points...

Toyota fortuner is a decade old design Meridian is more contemporary.

CnB really needs to up theit game in getting new anchors for the show. Apart from SVP whose a legend, there's no one worth watching. Why can't CnB learn from Autocar India whose every anchor is so interesting n has a fan following of their own.👎

Nah, Meridian is not the direct competitor of the Fortuner although it has 7 seats. Fortuner’s Jeep counterpart should be Jeep Grand Cherokee that’s a full size SUV. Meridian is just a stretched Compass with 2 seats extra. This comparison is between two 7 seaters not better alternative.

Fortuner 15 lac mehngi hai,Interior is not so impressive,Common bahut zyada aa, Meridian is new , Reliable brand and American Beast.
