It’s 2022 and we just bought a 2016 Patriot with 23k miles one owner. Car is pretty clean inside and out! Good condition for sure, but there were some issues that the dealer said they’d fix so I hope they do. The dealer also said there were no recalls on my vehicle and clear car fax. Drives good and it’s manual (we don’t mind that) and 4x4. Having said all that, we paid $17k and it doesn’t have backup camera, power windows, no USB port…damn this isn’t a good time to buy! But when I look at it and drive it I like it 🤷🏼‍♂️ Couldn’t afford higher priced SUVs so we’re giving this a shot. Hope all goes well. Will do some mods in the future.

The sad thing is it sounds like you purchased a base Patriot. In 2016 and earlier you could purchase base models brand new from the dealer for less than you paid for the same one used. It’s like that with a lot of older vehicles now due to the chip shortage and parts shortage. The model in the video is a Latitude edition. Packages varied slightly but for the most part it came with remote start, heated seats, heated mirrors, power windows, 4x4 mode, Sirius radio, etc and even then it’s still stock AF compared to other vehicles after 2010 (no usb, no Bluetooth, blah blah). The good thing for you is that overall the vehicle is decent and stylish compared to others in the price range and mileage, and you can just buy a plug and play touchscreen off of Amazon or eBay to replace the radio. BUT you need to keep an eye on the suspension and the transmission. Those are known problem points with these. Make sure you keep changing the transmission fluid, the spark plugs, etc.

nice!!! I was going to run 235/75/15's but then decided against spending the money on rims (since I am not just a huge fan of the Jeeplet anyways) and just went with 235/70/16 Kumho all terrains and love them. You need to do a in cab driving around vid with your exhaust set up. Is yours the 2.0 or 2.4L ? Mine is the 2.0L w. CVT :-/

I have a 12' Jeep Patriot. After not being able to sell it, I want to make some changes. Smaller wheels, I like that. Did it affect your speedometer calibration?

You can but I recommend getting a 2inch lift for it depending on if you want it to run or to not have to do a pinch weld

Greg Moulton I had spacers on it first with the stock rims cause I like the wider stance and it cornered like a rubix cube 😆 but I don’t 100% trust spacers so when I bought the rims I got the negative offset so I didn’t need the spacers.
