I realize that this video is over 2 years old, but that is the cleanest TJ engine bay I have ever seen

Had this code and ended up having to completely replace my charcoal canister and purge valve solenoid. I had the original charcoal canister on my '97 TJ, and it was totally broken, leaking charcoal into the solenoid and breaking that as well. I went with a generic charcoal canister as they don't make new ones specifically for the '97 TJ anymore and figured out a way to mount it under the hood. If you end up replacing the solenoid, make sure to go with an OEM solenoid and not an aftermarket one even though they seem exactly the same, as the aftermarket solenoid will end up tripping the check engine light again. Found that out the hard way.

Later tjs have the evap can in the rear right, taking the fender liner out makes it real easy to get to

I’ve been having evap problems since I bought my 03 TJ and I hate evap leaks so much now 😂 I still don’t even know what the problem is it’s pretty annoying

On my 2001 TJ, it takes the sensors around 200 miles before they are all reporting in to the PCM. The evap sensor is the last to report. So when you clear the PCM, don’t think you’ve won till you drive it a while.

frequently get PO441, got a new gas cap, still have the issue but it doesnt come up as often

I'm *fairly* certain the steel line from the canister to the rubber hose back by the gas cap is corroded up behind the top of the spring mount on my '01 TJ. I'm going to put a new section in and see what happens. The EVAP code being thrown doesn't seem to affect performance or fuel economy - I'm just sick of looking at the MIL.

If you own a Wrangler you’re gonna have a evap issue. That’s just the way it is. Change out gas cap, evap canister, pcm and therm. Hopefully code clears after just 1 of the fixes, if not keep going down list

Also check to make sure your evap purge valve isn't installed upside-down like mine was. LOL

What size/ type of tires and rims you running? Are those bead lockers? They look really nice 👌 thinking of getting similar.

Purge value purge valve purge valve. It’s a know fault. It’s not anything else.

I have had a check engine light for 3 years. Evap large leak. 2004 4.0. I replaced the canister. No luck. Just poking around I followed the hoses FROM the canister. Found a hose that is completely overkill wrapped in electrical tape. Could this be the culprit? Hose connects directly to top of the canister and runs under the drivers side
