Do you remember what drill bit size you used?

I don't. I'm not even going to guess. I do remember doing the ol' finger roll test-rolling the screw and a drill bit between my fingers to find out which one felt bigger. Just make sure the drill bit is smaller than the screw so that the threads have something to bite onto.

If you also wanted to be more precise u could take that center console piece out and drill through it and get washers and a nut and screw that fits through there hole to make it even stronger

@@EHUDPOWER Great advice-the bolt, washer, and nut being a much better option for strength. I haven't had any issues with the coarse screws so far. This console panel holds pretty light gear-but your suggestion is much better. Especially on door / lift gate panels where you'd attach heavier things like axes, recovery gear, etc.
