How to replace front axle seals without any special tools. DANA 30 axle found in JK 2007-2017, TJ 1997-2006 and YJ 1987-1995 Jeep Wrangler.

Place a 1/2 ratchet extension in between the inner axle where the ujoint connects and the inside area of the hub...then turn the steering wheel... pops the wheel hub right out, super easy.

This is great for at home users, doesn’t work on rusted out vehicles too? I just used my slide hammer and gave it a few tugs.

Reverse the brake hub on the studs and put 4 turns on 3 lug nuts on. push the hub towards the axle and then snatch it out by griping the brake disc . Works

I am 99% sure you don't have to remove the wheel bearing from the axle. Jeep made it a single unit to make it easy to remove on the trail. You only need to remove the caliper, the abs sensor and the 3 12 point bolts. Then the whole assembly should come apart.

Hub puller $21.99 from summit racing. O'reillys and Auto Zone - free with refundable deposit of $20.00........Expensive but not too expensive. :p. Gave me the shivers when you used that race driver to pound in that seal, 36mm socket works super. Dana 30 bearing caps are 45 ft lbs, Dana 44 bearing caps 80 ft lbs.

I've seen wheel bearings falling apart after using hub pullers. With this method you don't disturb the bearing at all. Race driver is perfectly fine to use as long as it sits against the steel part of the seal, which it does in this application.

i have actually pulled a jeep wrangler wheel bearing into 2 pieces using a puller.. i just pound on them with a hammer now, or use the steering and an extension to open up a gap for a chisel, anti sieze on reassembly of all the outer hub parts is a good idea for the next guy.. since the next guy is usually you

You dont need a pry bar. OMFG it lifts up and out. UP AND OUT@ I do like how you touch the parts up you damaged but you shouldnt have to damage it to fix it... That is called I don't know what I am doing.. That is fine to say that.. Never use force..AND RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB>>ALWAYS!! WELL WORTH THE INVESTMENT:> I HAVE SPRING COMPRESSORS AND SHIT I ONLY USED 1 time... But I got them if needed....

I was a certified general motors auto mechanic ,notice I said mechanic! Big difference between a mechanic and a technician!! For 40 years until I had a bunch of strokes, anyways everybody has their own way of doing things and I seen nothing wrong with the way he done this job!
