As a retired LEO I would advise to at least rehearse getting pulled over by the cops. How are you going to notify the cop that you are a CCW before he sees it mounted there, in plain view and ready access. (high alert) Have your licence, registration, CCW permit, proof of insurance in hand with both hands on the wheel before the cop approaches and in such a way where you can retrieve them without a lot of squirming around which might put the officer on high alert. If it's at night turn on your dome light. Practice that, like you train at the range. Fines, arrest, incarceration can all be argued later, you don't want to get shot by a jumpy cop. As far as the legalities, learn what's what for your area.

Nice idea and will work for many but I prefer to keep my carry gun on my person.

I agree fully, since making the video I tried to use it twice since then I have not, its not practical to pull it out of my holster to put in there, increases the chances of someone seeing it or it could go off accidentally or I forget it in the jeep.

My buddies girlfriend puts places she's been on the tailgate so she has a ton of stickers ranging from OCMD to Key West it's cool how people do the same thing on the tailgate but with different kinds of stickers

I like the set up but be care there actually is no "two step rule" in Florida it must be concealed in your glove box/center console or on your person if you have you CCW.

Dylan Mulligan I have a buddy who is a palm beach county sherif he told me the jeep is an extension of your home/body he said as long as I have to move two things to get the pistol I should be fine

@@mulligantd31 The actual Florida state statute says (no counseled carry permit required) to keep it in a glove box, or center console, or anywhere within the vehicle where it is not in easy reach of the driver, ALSO within a gun case, soft zipper case, or container requiring a lid to be removed. OR in a retaining holster ANYWHERE within the vehicle so I can be right next to you along as it is in a retaining holster. BOTH methods can be done with the firearm LOADED and CHAMBERED. I've talked to the chief of police enclose friend of mine in palm beach county and my lawyers and they both told me what I'm saying now. if anyone has any other questions feel free to ask. Kinda doesn't make sense how the laws are now but. when have gun laws ever.

In your vehicle is considered an extension of yourself. As long as doors are on and shut it is concealed.

Florida generally allows a person 18 years of age or older to possess a concealed firearm within the interior of a private vehicle, without a license, if the firearm or other weapon is securely encased or is otherwise not readily accessible for immediate use. So since it is readily available and within reach you need the license to use this mount.

JAHN BecX I had these same thoughts I asked a palm beach county sheriff he told me as long as it is a two step process it’s fine. I let him see it and he said yea I see no problem with that as there is the button clasp and the Velcro strap makes it two steps. He said the vehicle is an extension of my home, I asked about doorless and topless he said I wouldn’t if it’s going to be visible but that’s why they gave you the bag. But yea I didn’t want to break any gun laws either lol

I hear ya!, I live in Florida also (Hernando County), The prob is that many 'Leo's' really do not know the Law and could make your life miserable in a traffic stop. The law leaves many interpretations! love the ability to keep in the Jeep, instead of always wearing, but I personally do not want to be hassled at a traffic stop Good luck with that install! from my take on the law, the firearm needs to be concealed either in the console or concealed container in the back, with a 2 step deployment, whatever that means. As always the Laws are created with a 'Vague' description so Lawers can argue the case in court. Ka-Ching deep pockets for your rights! All the best with your decission

Same in mo. We actually have constitutional conceal carry where anyone legally allowed to own firearm can conceal carry or open carry. Those not able to legally own are convicted felons, those under the influence of mind altering substances, dishonorable discharge from military, etc....

Just be aware if you don’t cover it with the cloth they gave you it’s not concealed. Trust me this is from some one who has had this problem.

Everyone's an expert! Florida law allows you to have a firearm in the car without a permit if it is in a secure container and it cannot be easily accessible. Placing the firearm on the passenger seat, wedged between your seat or in an open compartment where the weapon is still visible and can be reached immediately is not permitted. The weapon must be contained, having it in a holster, preferably a holster with retention, and placed in your closed glove box is always a good place to start, especially if you are not a licensed concealed weapon holder. The only time a gun can be on someone's person in the car is if the gun owner has a permit to carry from the state of Florida. Even then, the weapon can never be openly carried in your car. "The key word is 'concealed.'" The state of Florida does not recognize open carry, so the only way to carry a firearm in Florida is concealed and with a permit.

It’s legal to keep your handgun in your car depending on how and where you keep it. Making sure your gun is in plain sight - that is, not concealed - is the key to its legality. The legal definition of “concealed firearm” is contained in Fla. Stat. §790.001. This statute defines a “concealed firearm as any firearm carried on or about a person (or car) in such a manner as to conceal the firearm from the ordinary sight of another person.”
