JEEP XJ STOCK Rear Bumper MOD

6 жыл бұрынCherokees are like never ending projects but when you have to travel and live in one for four months with your wife it needs to be in a good operating condition. I've been building and using the Jeep as a work truck and offroad toy for the last two years and although it's pretty solid its going to need some work before we leave for Scandinavia.
IN this video I address modify the stock bumper with baffles as end sliders but more importantly future proof the mounting points with some DIY tie ins to give me a solid mounting point for my tow bar and bumper.

1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ 2.5TD RHD.
35x12.50r15 BFG KM3's with 15x8 3.75" backspacing (-19 offset).
Lift Front - RC 4.5" Coils and N2 Shocks (2" Coil Spacer).
Front Shock Bar Pin Eliminator.
Dana 30 High Pinion with Artec Industries Lower Control Arm Mounts with modified upper mount and modified Track Bar mount.
Front RC Control Arm Drop Bracket.
Ruff Stuff Short Arm Single Himes.
RC Extended Sway Bar Links.
Dana 30 Rock Crusher Diff Cover.
Ruff Stuff One Ton OTK Steering.
6" Lift Drop Pitman Arm.

@Workshop & Wilderness this is by far the best way to strengthen the rear frame sections and add strength for the bumper. This is also going to solve my rusty quarter plan problem and protect what’s left with a rock guard. This video checks off 3 things i need to do. So glad you posted it.

I have really enjoyed your content and keep coming back to it for ideas. I like how you keep it looking understated and determine what mods to do based on functionality for overlapping vs some of the extreme (and very expensive) mods so many channels highlight.

What shackle relocation braket do you have?

They are made by rough country. They are pretty good as it's just thick steel. You need to use them with a longer shackle to get the best out of them

Amazing job on your XJ. My I ask where did you get the front bumper at? Also, considering the fact you fabricated your rear bumper out of the original one, does it make it street legal? EU really is a pain in the rear with all the TüV requirements, so few options remaining.

Ah thanks, its taken some work and it never seems to end. The bumper was bought from ebay here - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JEEP-CHEROKEE-XJ-89-01-FRONT-STEEL-BUMPER-WINCH-OFF-ROAD/323691976631?hash=item4b5d8b97b7:g:5RgAAOSwNSxVGvRX:rk:1:pf:1&frcectupt=true The rear bumper hasn't effected anything with regards to inspections or street legality. Due to the age of the Jeep and lot of newer regulations don't really apply. It passes with no concerns. Thanks for watching.
