What did you end up doing with the fuel tank? All the options I have found, relocate the fuel tank behind the rear seat. My issue with that is my kids ride in the back and a gas shower if we get rear-ended is not something I want to have happen.

If you keep following along in the playlist from this video, I didn’t make a whole video about it but I did show how I dealt with it. The fuel tank is still in the back, but I have a body lift, so I chop the skid plate and raised it up in till it’s basically touching the tub And I also dented the front side of the tank in to clear the differential. I don’t remember which video it’s in. May be somewhere between episode 3,4 or five. In this playlist “Dana 44/60 swap”

@@FlawedOffroad nice. I've got some d60s that might go under the lj. I'm going back and forth between them and a set of 44s. Because I want to run 37s. And I don't think that warrants the size of 60s.

What year wagoneer springs bolt up to the YJ?
@FlawedOffroad
@FlawedOffroad Жыл бұрын
I think pretty much mid 70-s thru 91 are the same. They dont just bolt up that easy, several mods have to happen to make everything play nice. ALso they are front wagoneer springs. and there were several different variations of them, 4 leaf, 5 leaf, 7 leaf, different spring rates etc. This video is old but its the first video in a playlist, keep watchin this playlist and I cover alot of those particulars

Hey dude. I know you said you used wagoner leafs but what lift are they. Stock? Fixing to replace my 30 yr old flat ones for some waggys and can’t decide if im gonna use stock for 2” lift or the 2.5” lift ones. Im on 35s but have contemplated going to 40s and want to be sitting over the tires not on top of them. Your jeep is perfect.
@FlawedOffroad
@FlawedOffroad Жыл бұрын
They are no lift, 7 leaf 1440lb from general spring. I removed the 2nd smallest leaf in the front, and the 2nd and 4th smallest in rear. Rear is still stiff like that
@92frchld
@92frchld Жыл бұрын
Thank you. Thats a good start for me. I can play with the leafs and get a softer ride from there. What size tires are you running. 38s? I feel like youve said it in one of your videos I’ve watched.

I look forward to more on this build. I think we have the same vision for our jeep so what you're doin here will be in our future. I have a question; how do you feel about the stock panhard bars that comes on the YJs?
@FlawedOffroad
@FlawedOffroad 3 жыл бұрын
I removed them about a year after I got the jeep so about 8 years ago. They are government issued trash after all the CJ rollovers, all they do is bind your suspension and make the ride rougher
@SquareLyfe
@SquareLyfe 3 жыл бұрын
@@FlawedOffroad yeah I've been contemplating taking them off but those dinky welds on the stock spring hangers made me second guess myself.
@FlawedOffroad
@FlawedOffroad 3 жыл бұрын
@@SquareLyfe the track bars only center the axle, leaf's are already doing that for you. They also put a major bind on your leaf suspension and it could be argued that it puts more strain on those dinky spring hanger welds

@@FlawedOffroad oh they're coming off
@FlawedOffroad
@FlawedOffroad 3 жыл бұрын
@@SquareLyfe I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the increase in ride quality. I originally removed mine for more flex back when I was stock on 31s with a shackle and body lift and I was blown away with how much better the ride got
