This time on the AutoEdits Jeep adventure, I'll take you up one of my favorite local trails in Southern California... Miller Jeep Trail. I only have a 50% success rate on this trail but still highly recommend it. It's a moderately easy, maybe a 3 rating out of 10... and that's only one obstacle near the top.
The first time I failed on this trail, I took a wrong turn and got lost and broke my truck... here's that video:
• Off Road Adventure in ...
Then my friend and I had a great run in our Jeeps:
• TrekTop Twill Features...
After that, I had a successful redemption run in that Ram truck:
• Dodge Ram 1500 Conquer...
Followed by todays major fail!
What would you do if you came across a broken rig like this?
Here's the onXmap of this run that I recorded:
webmap.onxmaps.com/offroad/sh...

What is it with abandoned Toyotas? On my bike rides, I get them around the Kaena Point area on O'ahu. One year...I saw two of them and a Dodge...just...slowly...returning to the Earth... Weird. Still, your drive was enjoyable...and tasty, no doubt. Aloha!

Same here. Got a 2016 JK and did the 3.5 game changer with RockSports, Tom woods 1350’s front and back and the HD steering kit. Sadly my rig is always dealing with Gremlins these days and Metal cloak and Tom Woods have been anything but helpful in all interactions. But I love how you got your rig setup and doesn’t stop me from supporting you and the channel big guy. Thanks for getting the JK out there again. 🤙

I’ve loved your videos for a long time, Jason and I 0:02 totally agree with you about the JK. I bought mine new in 2016. I’ve babied her for her entire life. As I write this she has 20,788 miles on the clock… but now she’s paid off, I moved to Northern Nevada and I’m ready to accumulate a few scratches and dings on our endless off-road trails. Thanks for keeping me inspired all this time, Jason. You ROCK!

Awesome video Jason! Call me an "a-hole" but I would've tried to move that truck out of my way with my winch somehow. But I also think it was smart to just call it a day and back down.

I was thinking the same thing, but from a "help the truck back to flat ground" kind of way. Looks like it got kind of spicy, so he just bailed. Probably didn't want to back out with that wheel in the air. 👍

@eggdashure that's kinda why I'm an "a-hole", I would've gotten mad someone just left their crap in the trail and tried to drag the truck out of my way so I could pass and go around. I definitely understand thing break and things don't always go to plan on the trail but to just leave it? No note? C'mon! Ya know?

Great video! Yeah good call on turning around with no spotter. Plus the risk of bumping or moving someone elses ride and being liable for damage. Looks like an awesome trail, and the drone crash was hilarious, great editing! Definitely make more of these! Also with the JK price being in a sweet spot, I've noticed lower TJ prices.

HA! My ideal setup would be to get enough acting work to support producing KZfaq content. But when I struggle financially (things are seriously tough right now with the actors strike) it gets harder for me to get my head into these videos for you few wonderful folks that watch. I just can't get enough views here to make enough money... but like making them as a creative outlet.

I bet you were debating on witching that truck over and out of the way. I was watching and thinking that would have been the easiest way. I did consider it but you have to remember that I don't know the condition of the drivetrain, does it have brakes, etc. Being solo forces me to be much more conservative... plus, the video doesn't do justice to how steep that whole section was. That tire was pretty far off the ground and I could tip the thing with my finger so I made the call to not "adjust" it 🤣

First of all I enjoy your videos, especially Jeep. I currently researching anti rock sway bars,asking your opinion. I realize that you are not running them, is there a reason? I value your opinion. Thank you in advance..

I've been very happy with the stock Rubicon components. I did get some experience with my friends Sway Lock setup and liked that as well. I see lots of people with good results with the anti rock... so it's up to you!

Thank you for your reply, I didn't think about you having a Rubicon with disconnect. I believe I convinced myself to go for. Planning a trip to Tennessee I will let you know how it goes.

Is it at least NOT blocking the entire trail? I'm really curious as to why someone felt ok just leaving that red truck like that. And why is a 2 wheel drive truck up there? The front end was wrecked. @@NPHTV12

I thought about it... to much risk for me. It was a manual trans. truck so if something was wrong with the driveline, there was no other human there to hold the brakes to keep it from rolling over or back down the hill into my Jeep. When I'm alone I tend to be more cautious.

Why didn’t you pull the truck out of the way? I can’t think of any reason to not do that.
@AutoEdits
@AutoEdits 10 ай бұрын
I didn't think risking the truck rolling on it's side was good for the trail or the owner of the truck... even if I'm not a fan of it being left in the middle of the trail. Plus, the bed was filled junk and that would've made an even bigger mess. As it was, I picked up a bunch of trash around this stupid thing that they left behind.

Nothing worse than irresponsible A-holes Abandoning their vehicles. I wouldnt have risked it either, especially with no spotter. Do you carry a chainsaw or a machete with you? Maybe made it doable by clearing that brush on the left? I carry both now that Ive run into overgrowth and trees across the trail.
@AutoEdits
@AutoEdits 10 ай бұрын
Yeah, honestly I was more bummed by how much trash was left all over the trail. I did use my folding shovel like a machete to "trim" back that bush quite a bit... but no I don't normally carry anything like that. Solid recommendation.
