I thought this will be a stand up comedy but turns out to be something even better than laughter.

Like you, Jeff, I was an obnoxious, self absorbed drunk/addict, who had to file for bankruptcy TWICE, was a porn addict, lied to my wife. My wife said she wanted a divorce. One night at our church, they were advertising " Marriage Mentoring". One the night we were meeting with a couple to discuss the program, on the way home, I was filled with the Holy Spirit. Our marriage was saved. Of all the couple's that attended marriage mentoring, ours was the only one that was saved. BTW, we are both saved and Born Again.

I relate to this man .. I was irresponsible and aloof the first 5 years of our marriage .. My wife and I has some really serious fights .. It was Jesus who restored me and who restored us . instead of fighting with my wife, I began to fight for my wife.. We will be celebrating 10 years in a few months .. Praise be to Jesus

I’m an atheist but I can totally respect what he’s saying. If religion and Christianity is what helps you be a better person and save your marriage, then by all means, you do you.

It isn’t ‘religion’ that helps him. It’s being completely changed by the grace of God. Baring himself, sharing his failings as a man, a person, a husband can only come from the change by being filled with the Holy Spirit. If something is truly GOOD (not by our definition or understanding of the term) in our life, it’s not of our own doing.

Awww....so sweet sharing his heart like that. You can tell it's out of his comfort zone, but wonderful that he feels it's important enough to do it anyway. Who knows maybe he can help another man like him and keep another marriage together. Sometimes, it is good for people to know they are not the only ones and furthermore the answer is always letting go and letting God have control.

Jeff is a classic. I know how his story touches all of us alike. "I can do all things through Christ who strenghens me." (US) Remind yourself every day, and do not let anyone else run your life.

wow, what he said, takes a lot of courage

Only being changed by the Holy Spirit could make a person willing to share his failings as a man, husband & person.

God doesn't use the best of the best, He uses YOU. That is a humbling experience for me most of the time. God bless ya Jeff!
@elijahrobinson23623 жыл бұрын
He always uses the worst of us, often when we are AT our worst, to show how much HE is the reason for all good things. It’s only through God’s grace that we are able to be changed for the better, for His glory.

God I wish my friend's husband would listen to your testimony My friend tried really hard to stay married to her despite the fact that he was mentally emotionally and spiritually abusive too And the way he disciplined his one-year-old made me want to vomitt We tried everything. I begged our pastor and his wife to come over. I said you know he's a different person when he goes to church. The way he treats my friend and how he is it home is completely different. I know the guy had a lot of stress because he comes from a different country and he's living in Taiwan I know that because English wasn't his first language and he was teaching English as a second language it's pretty stressful. As a self-supported Christian missionaryI was very honest with him about how his first three years of marriage would be. I explained to him what it's like to live in Taiwan. Taiwanese people don't make a lot of money both parents have to work. Kids start school as young as one. I said if you get married and come to Taiwan you're going to have to help my friendl with the baby you're going to have to do all kinds of things. Finally after 3 years of his abuse she finally had the courage to move out. her father came and spoke to him twice and we had a friend translate for him. We prayed for him for three years. He's a part-time dad he sees my godson every Sunday. He comes from a country where they don't respect women. I guess he would just wasn't ready to be married I mean they marry young there. Most people are married at twenty 21.he came from an Eastern European country that is still controlled by communism even though they say there a democracy. A democracy is not that great either because it's real by mob Unless you're living in a true republic it just doesn't work. One year later she still trying to be free from the guy and the process is just taking forever. She's both mom and dad and she works and I try to do what I can. I just wish more women could hear the testimonies of people who've almost got a divorce

"Seek ye FIRST the kingdom of the Lord & all these other things will come to you." Similar story bro. Isnt it amazing how a trashed life can be so compleatly transformed!! My 1st prayre every morning is "Daddy, thank you for Jan & making her crazy enough to marry ME!" A good woman is proof that God loves stupid men. 😁

WOW. What a testimony. God does work in mysterious ways. My opinion is that people make the mistake of thinking they "getting it" in a minute. St. Paul wandered for 3 years in the desert after his encounter with Our Blessed Lord before starting his ministry. I had the oddest experience the other day. I was wondering if I was making progress and I swear I heard a voice (in my head) that said "Look how far you have come." I have gone from a person obsessing about being wronged to one that readily prays for the same people I blamed. It took time. Sometimes we have to pray for the willingness to pray for those that have hurt us.

Twenty Five yrs ago I too was a jerk. Then I tuned in to Dr. Laura Schlesinger. ONE YEAR after listening to her, we were living in a NEW BRICK HOME on 15 arcers of land with stables, barns, a 3/4 acer Pond and a GREAT VIEW, after living in a Moble Home for over 12 yrs. Haven't gone out drinking since and we have been married now for 40 Great years. Love my wife and the good Dr. Laura. "Stupid things men do" is one of her books, and she has one for women too. Good reads. Sadly she made a FACTUAL statement about Homosexuality and was driven off the air in our part of the country, Disturbing how this could happen to someone that HELPED more people the Oprah and Dr. Phil Combined.

Has there ever been a woman acknowledging she’s been a bad wife?
@ediebluntzer51855 жыл бұрын
yes, me. I am not the woman I should be. As much as I love God, and know Jesus is my Lord and Savior, I fall short of His kingdom here on earth. I fail everyday, but I know He is with me, loves me, works with me on a daily basis. There are many many of us wives who fail, but are forgiven by Jesus's sacrifice on the Cross.

Edie Bluntzer hi, no one’s perfect, that’s the point. Everyone of us strives to improve ourselves and not hurt anyone, specially the people we love. God bless you.
