The drum part for 'Space Boogie' is one of the most difficult ever. Simon Phillips played the original track for the studio album. In this video clip, Vinnie Colaiuta recreates the beat flawlessly.

I mean, I've had the DVD since it first came out, but still - good grief this is an incredible live performance. I've seen his group 3 times, but in my opinion, on this song, all the performers are stellar and in sync BUT my bubba Vinnie just absolutely crushes the drum - not crash/bang/wild but just incredible force, tempo, rhythm and power, yet controlled. He's like a metronome and I LOVE watching him. Help me, somebody help me . . . going to heaven.
