"I don't even think there's pressure at all. I think it's more of an opportunity to figure out how to do the theme to who's going to be a collaborator. When Willy Chavarria stepped up and said, 'I want to collaborate with you.' That felt like a dream. You know, he won the CFDA Award for Best Menswear Designer of the year. He's fantastic, and it feels like my style, like, you know, like his references are like 1940s and also like Chicano culture and streetwear. You feel cool, you feel sexy and you're like, 'Oh, that's the way I want to feel when I go to the Met for the first time.'"

Luhrmann: "But we are lucky also in that we work with Miuccia Prada for 30 years. So we're wearing mumu. You can't go wrong."
Reporter: Does Catherine ever dress you?"
Luhrmann: No. Actually, we look to each other for counsel. Like, we'll get our looks together and go on a night like this we work together, but going out, I'll come and say, 'Hey, you reckon brown or blue jacket?' And she might come to me and go, 'Do you think this is too much? And I'll go like, 'Never enough, never enough.'"

STORYLINE:
Celebrities from the worlds of film, fashion, music, sports, politics and social media ascended the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday to sip cocktails, have dinner and sample the new exhibit, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”
Actor Lea Michele showed up sporting a baby bump underneath her gown. "This is my fifth Met. I'm honored to be here and bring my baby with me. It's so unbelievable," she said.
The “Sleeping Beauties” title refers to garments from the Costume Institute’s collection that have been “in slumber” and now will be on display, some too fragile to hang upright lest they disintegrate. Curator Andrew Bolton picked 250 pieces spanning four centuries.
Director Baz Luhrmann said he and wife, costume designer Catherine Martin, coordinate looks on big fashion nights like this one.
Besides Vogue’s Anna Wintour who coordinates the event, other gala hosts this year include Zendaya, Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez, and Chris Hemsworth - a first-time gala attendee.
