Jeff Lutz's son who races this honda civic only in radial events gave his try at no prep. In this video he is only testing trying to see if he can get his twin turbo honda who usually runs 7s in the quarter mile to grip in a no prep surface at Emerald Coast Dragway Florida.

I remember seeing this thing in the background of so many episodes, and I was always wondering when I would see this thing in action. I'm glad to see this thing finally making passes! Now, if only someone could setup a race with you and Brent from PFISpeed, or Kyle from BoostedBoiz, that would be amazing. It would be a race of FWD vs RWD, or AWD vs RWD depending on who you race. But 7 seconds seems like it would be an even match up with either of the two mentioned people. Mr Jeff Lutz was always one of my favorites from the show, not only because he's originally from PA (like myself), but he has one of the best attitudes in this sport, hands down. And seeing his son follow in his footsteps is just the icing on the cake. Good luck guys!

There are a few small block Hondas. My buddy has a 03 ford focus hatch with a 5.0 HOn T5 and a 8.8 with a custom chassis. Its actually for sale here in Ohio for 8k which is a steal imo but have to many projects. You guys saying yeah right know Hondas sounds like shit no matter if they make 700hp or not. With a turbo and no exhaust they sound even worse. I a crx in middle school about 15 years ago with duel flow masters and that was about the best sounding Honda I have heard.

That's gonna be a fun one to figure out, Balance of weight verses power will be hard to get right but if anyone can do it Jeff can! Big tires might do the trick. I've seen v8 versions of this Honda before and none of them lasted long! Folks had the same problem out of the Chevette! Short light weight nightmares lol

This was the first tests, testing is essential for progression. you learn more from test failures, than test successes. Most cars you see out there, they test in secret. I'm guessing that is what you are used to

I don't know why all the hate on this Civic other than it being rear wheel drive with all that power in another video a guy went 6 or 7 in a Civic although it was all wheel drive and a 4 cyl think it was in the high 190 or maybe 200mph , in a street car I would love to see more rear wheel drives like the 70s they died out early 80s now there hard to find great lil street racers burn out cars .

Going to have to come off the line with low boost and start to pour it on after the 60'. That thing is so light it should eat up the back half of the track. Jeff lutz is a legend! He is the one u want for figuring a machine out like this car.

It's a 98.4" wheelbase. Longer than a Vega, and it's likely extended a bit. Hell, the foxbody wheelbase is all of 100.5"

It used to have a 572 BBC twin turbo set up in it when he ran it on drag week but they said he's got a SBC in it now I don't know the cubic inches but once he gets everything lined out he shouldn't have no problem running with the big tire cars or small tire cuz even with the windows and steel body panels that car weighs about 2600 give or take and that's what most of the big tire cars weigh too around that with no driver in this video he's got about a 12 inch tire on it which is considered big tire but in drag week he had a much bigger tire on it when he had the 572 in it but between him and his dad they will get everything lined out and Jr will get in where he fits in

So what rules of No Prep is this car breaking? (Because eberybodys series has so many different rules) was a FWD now it RWD. How's that gojng to be legal? Engine placement? Wheelbase? Tire requirements? It "looks" to only- MAYBE- have steel roof and quarter panels! Not knocking the Lutz family here! Great people to meet in person! Jeff Sr. 57's have always had the street car part down- at least the first two 57's. Wonder what Jeff did with those cars? A little bit of back story on those cars would be great! Samething with Larry Larsons Nova A.K.A. Chevy 2.
