Susan, thank you for sharing this. I went from having a big smile watching the 3 brothers interact to fighting back tears thinking that 2 of them are now gone, both leaving this world way too young. I've been a musician since I was a kid (many decades ago!) and I initially played drums for many years (Now a keyboardist). Jeff was a big influence on during my teen years, sometimes without me initially even knowing it was him on drums until later (because he had played on so many songs that I was listening to). Jeff was a one of a kind drummer and a great person.

I love this. Married four months later ... Love at first sight!

You know what Susan, in hindsight you got the biggest award of all that night, you got Jeff! After that night you'd never think Jeff was Steve again and you would never misspell Porcaro again. God bless and keep you and your family...

They are like brothers to me. I grew up with them through their music. Today I am also a musician (drummer and singer) and my aspirations largely come from them.

After all of these years, I finally get to see the whole interview. Still cracks me up the way Jeff's eyes twinkled with mischief when Susan confused their names and then misspelled their last name. He was smitten from moment one.

My wife and I were lucky to see Jeff drumming for Sonny & Cher (just weeks before his 18th birthday), when they played Fort Wayne, Indiana's Memorial Coliseum on Sunday March 19, 1972. The local Gazette newspaper reported at the time that it was the highest-grossing concert in the city's history. We had been watching "The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour" since it debuted in August 1971, and made sure to watch for Jeff on drums from then on. Fast-forward two years and we're attending our first Steely Dan concert at the U. of Toledo on Sunday April 21, 1974. Who do we see tandem drumming alongside Jim Hodder, but a just-turned 20 Jeff Porcaro. He was so good on that "Pretzel Logic" album tour of the U.S. and England that Becker & Fagen made him the session drummer on their next album, 1975's "Katy Lied." Jeff tells the story in the online Toto Encyclopedia of giving up $1500. a week with Sonny & Cher to join Steely Dan for $400. a week, just for the opportunity to play with his favorite band at the time. We last saw Jeff with his brothers Mike and Steve when Toto played Salem, Oregon in 1985. we

It is a good thing to see this and to understand the providence of it all, as he would asked to marry you a few minutes later, big smile here to understand that this was a start of a wonderful beginning for you both. On a side note. If you take the Toto Album "ToTo XX (1977 - 1997)" and put the songs in year sequence, you will discover the many styles of music that the Porcaro Brothers helped create. It is astounding just what they and their late father Joe added to our musical culture. I Pray at this moment, that someday that the "Porcaro Brothers Documentary" can be told. please understand, I have no desire to get into your business, as it is none of mine. Was there ever a time when Jeff wasn’t the coolest guy in the room? The answer is a resounding no. He was the epitome of cool and that’s just when he wasn’t even sitting behind a set of drums. Every time he did that of course the world was undoubtedly a better place.

They were hip, every member of Toto were bada** musicians. Imo "Hold the Line" is the best Rock song ever. It's that riff (groove) repeated thru the whole song & it just stands out (Ala Van Halen). Groove is "key" to a great song. & then Jeff bags the interviewer & marries her 4 months later, absolutely hip 👍

Sounds especially cool in headphones, especially with the synth patterns.
