What a beautiful tribute to your mom. When you were at the window and you spoke to her she heard you, her breaths became quicker, she knew you were there. She loved you. Our moms and their love for their children cannot be quantified or explained with words. Their presence is comforting because their love is UNCONDITIONAL even when we make them mad or disappoint them. Moms are our refuge from a harsh world and when they cross over that void is never filled. Happy Mother’s Day to your mom in heaven.

I'm so sorry Jeff about your Mother's passing. Thankyou so much for sharing her story for Mother's day, when I first watch History Hunter months ago, I was watching the Graceland trip, I'm so glad that you had a chance to take her to see Elvis home. My favorite part was when you ask her why she like Elvis? Her reply was "He Loves The Lord." That part really made me a fan of History Hunter. I know your Mom is in Heaven with Jesus, with no more pain and suffering.🙂

Jeff, you have my sincere sympathy and condolence. I know how heart rendering and painful losing a mother can be. I remember watching the episode of your visit to Graceland. Your mother looked like a young child visiting Disneyland or any other fun place for the first time. She looked like she was, literally beaming with joy. My own mother passed away on 31 March 1993. She suffered from heart disease and complications from Diabetes. I had made a promise to mom that I would stay by her side when other siblings weren't there because, she was afraid to be left alone. I was sitting by her bedside, holding her hand when three nurses came into her room and said that I'd have to leave. I told them no, I had made a promise to not leave. The senior nurse threatened to call security it I didn't leave. After 20 minutes or so, I walked back into her room, the three nurses were side by side against the wall looking confused and scared. I immediately looked at the machine that records heart beats and oxygen and, there was just a long straight line. I knew that my mother was gone. I screamed at those nurses, called them, I don't remember what all i said but slowly, they left the room. My older sister came into the room after my tirade and we both broke down. Yes Jeff, I know that pain you felt. Thank you for sharing these precious memories of your mother. Stan in Ceres.

Jeff, I just lost my dad a month ago (84). What a beautiful tribute and closer to your mom's life, I don't have it in me to do what you've done without falling completely apart. Everybody has to remember that the only thing separating them from their loved ones is the number on their ticket, we're all in the same line waiting on that train. Stay strong and God Bless.

This is one of the best tributes I've seen to a parent. The time and effort and will and strong hearted person that you are to do this, to share This with people you don't know, It takes a special person. My parents are up in their 80s, doing OK so far. I applaud you for doing this, may your mom rest in peace.

This was lovely. I appreciate that you did not just focus on how wonderful she was but also in the ways that she, like us all, was flawed and so very human: seeking love and connection, yearning for life experiences. Bravo to you for caring so much for her in all ways and being there until the end. We should all be so fortunate to have a witness such as you.

Hi. You and I were in the same place in January 1977. I also was at the Carter Inauguration. I went to the party at Union Station. Arlo Guthrie and Hoyt Axton were performing in one area but I enjoyed the Duke Ellington band perform. I absolutely love Big Band music. According to Jewish tradition once a soul is created it never ceases to exist. After death the soul is no longer confined to one place. A soul can be many places at the same time. Just sit back and enjoy your mother's visits. May you be blessed. You are a wonderful son!

This video hit me really hard. My name is Jeff also, what a coincidence ! I’m 60 years old and am going through the same thing with my own Mother. Started with a little dementia back in 2008 and progressed slowly over the years with the occasional weird things like a small car accidents that were unexplainable. We had to finally take the keys away in 2018 because she ran into a pole at the store and it caused a fuel line to break loose and burned the car up right there. That was very hard on her to have her freedom to get around taken away. In 2020 I was visiting her at home and she asked me who I was and I had to show her pictures and tell her I’m your son Jeff. Very hard moment to swallow there. I’ve been a Truck Driver for 25 years and can’t quite until 2027 so I feel bad so often knowing my time with her is coming to an end and I can’t see her more. We have a nurse that comes by every day and stays with her. This video parallels my life and my families life in so many ways. My father was Coast Guard and I served in the Air Force. He past away in 1996 of Colon Cancer at age 56 very young. Mom never remarried and lives alone . Thanks for posting this video I cried off and on all the way through because of the similarities. Love your videos. I live in Texas but have lots of family in California and I drive out there often. Oh my mother was born in Duncan Oklahoma.

Jeff, your mom seemed like she was a special lady to have around and had a gifted heart. I could hear you start to cry at the end, so I started crying. Mom’s are special role models in our lives. My great grandma is gone now(2012) and she had declining health as well from a fall. She also had those old Westerns turned up loud and had to find the remote to turn the TV down that reminded of her, so I started tearing up. 💕

I fell in love with the valley during my tour there and two of my grandkids were born at the hospital on the base there. The valley is full of hardworking conservative people. Jeff, what a wonderful tribute to your mom, this day, Mother's Day 2021. Recently, we went through much the same with my wife's mother. Oh how I hate dementia and what it does to our loved ones. How wonderful however that you have all of this video footage and photographs of her along with a very detailed account of her life. You were a very loving son to her especially when she needed you most. You are correct in how our current pandemic situation has alienated our families in such an inhumane way. It is inexcusable. My heart cries out to those that are feeling abandoned and separated from their family and friends. Please know that your mother is restored in all ways and is in the loving arms of our Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven, where we will be united in that 'great gettin' up morning' in the air. Thank you so much for sharing your mom with us Jeff. Now, I have to go dry all my tears from my computer keyboard. .....Russell D.

Excellent and very touching video Jeff! You did a terrific job sharing your mom’s story with us and I’m sure she would be very proud of you and the work you put into it! She seemed to be an awesome mom and loved you and your siblings a lot! Your very lucky to have a mom like that! Just remember all those good times and keep them close to heart and up in your mind when you want to remember her and put a smile on your face when you think of something funny you two did together or a special moment you had with her. Unfortunately I know that pain of losing a mom too. I lost my mom in April 1991, a few days after my 16th birthday. She was 34 when she passed away due to an aneurysm. I miss her more than anything! And the relationship you had with your mom reminds me of the one I had with my mom. I’ll keep you and your mom in my prayers too! P.S. my mom was a big Elvis Presley fan as well and I suppose that’s why I still am to this day. I know your not a big fan of him, but that’s ok. Haha! Well take care now and I’ll be checking in again next week for another video. And again, excellent job on this video! I have to go wipe a couple tears outta my eyes now too! Frank from Philadelphia, PA.

Well Jeff the wonderful memories of your life are also sprinkled with gut wrenching pain. The memories of loved ones will always be with you as long as you live. We as adults when you start adding up the years will see many people you have know how to their eternal happiness. I can only hope that the Earthmaker has a place for us! Rest In Peace to all who have left us.

Jeff. Just watched the video. A fantastic tribute to your Mom. Loved every minute of it. I experienced a similar experience with my Mom who suffered 40 years with Mental Illness and passed on at the young age of 63. Your video reminded me of the many times harsh reality of life and the transition to death and just how it tests our ability to remain strong enough to forget our own sorrow and make the best of caring for the ones we love. Thank you Jeff for the video on Mothers day. So Glad that I was able to watch it.

I really appreciate the kind words you have for me. I loved my mom but as you can see she was somewhat of a challenge. I so regret that her last months were spent in isolation because of Newsom’s lockdown and COVID related issues.

What a beautiful tribute to your mom Jeff. I am lucky to still have my mom. She is 82. She survived a bout with B Cell Lymphoma and is still active and living on her own. When I watch your video's I get a history lesson that I enjoy.

Thank you for the touching comments about my mother. I guess you just never are prepared for the loss of your parents because you think they will die someday but you’re hoping that day never comes and when it does you’re shocked at the finality of it all. I still miss her and still think of her as living. I believe in my heart that she is living in heaven and would never want to come back to the stressed life that she had.

Dear Boy! Bless your Sweet heart dear Boy! How brave of you to give such a SWEET AND HONEST TRIBUTE TO YOUR MOTHER. I recognize her childhood, so like mine, I wanted to join the Marines!!! to get a nursing degree! My stepfather a WWII VET, knew I would go STRAIGHT TO VIETNAM so he & My mother put a quash on that dream. In time I have been grateful for THIER wisdom and refusal to support. It would have been physiological damaging and who knows Mabe even death. Your grandparents knew WAR and that may have been THIER insistence she not join the Navy?. I can only say my conclusion about my similar experience. I have 3 grown son's and we have had issues ourselves. I am not dependant on them at all. But I praise you for loving her, looking to Her well being, and realizing it was surely best she go to assisted living situation. You documented Wonderful trips and adventures her entire life. Even the not. So swell happenings. Touching on her low self esteem, starting in her over burdened childhood was the key to the future. I can say for myself I had not much GUIDENCE as young girl. I did my best as an adult and I feel I'm not such a bad " OLD LADY" at present. You are a terrific son and I'm sure a good brother to your siblings. I enjoy your History Narrations and your subjects are really unusual , places and information mostly new to me. Keep going Dear! You are doing beautifully. I know she had to be very Proud of you even tho the thief " DEMENTIA" TOOK HER., LOOK at all the Special Memories you shared!! Much Encouragement to you and your sidekick!, 💚❤ D

Really related to the life you had with your Mother. The pictures of you, your Mom , the houses and the rears of the 1958 and 1959 Chevrolets In that one photo. Your Mom was beautiful and very intelligent too. My mother died in 1979 at only 59 years old. I will always feel like I never did enough for her while she was healthy or sick. I guess many of us feel that way. Time goes way too fast and we are often too unaware of what is best for us. We pass up the good things or just leave them alone. I know things now that I never knew years ago. I just want to assure to you one thing I know about you and Sarah. She is one of a kind and certainly a rare woman. A life partner for you for sure. I sure wish I could have known this in 1980 when I had the opportunity. The best to you, Jeff and Sarah.

Beautiful tribute to your mother Jeff. Outrageous the treatment our elders received this past year during the scamdemic. Bless you for taking care of her through thick and thin. Her face, when you came to see her the last day, at the sound of your voice, like an angel, so happy to hear you. My son lives in Lemoore. One of the town’s water tanks exploded today, losing millions of gallons of water. Tough times in the Central Valley. Take care.
