Few people today can appreciate the power the 440 + 6 is capable of. It was such a great Street Machine, as well as its little brother the 340 + 6. I have owned both versions and many cars. The seventies were an amazing time , and I'm glad I grew up driving in those years. In fact my first car was a 340 + 6 Challenger Factory T/A car... but when I finally purchased a 440 + 6 car... Wow I could not believe the torque. Street racing was amazing in those days. I've lost a lot of friends over the years just due to age and medical issues. Can't go back unfortunately. But whenever I open up my garage door and see the car sitting in there... All those memories come flooding back. These cars were, and are , such an icon of our time, and they will live on way past my lifetime. Interesting to think these cars have been, and will be , such an amazing interest and hobby for most of my lifetime.

Nice to see a class car on this channel. 71 year old racer here from Nova Scotia that spent many years with lower class Stockers between H/SA(Chevy II wagon) and L/S(66 Mustang). First time down the track was in 1966 in a K/S 59 Ford ragtop. Currently running a Chev powered Ranger in footbrake but would give it all up for another stocker.

Very nice interview Alison, your pops has one badass Mopar! Nice to see yer not shy to jump on it when Tommy is too busy to help out and ya did great. Good that your pops has a well connected race buddy, them 'Frugal' Mopar builds need all the help they can find. ;-)

Im not a huge Mopar fan, But MAD PROPS 🙏🙏🙏 to your pop's for keeping up the drag racing tradition. Especially in "Stock Eliminator class" if there's any real street class in drag racing, it's this class. And the Mopar's have definitely staked there claim in the racing world over the years.
@ibraunchy2043 жыл бұрын
Very nice Mopar , I bracket raced a G/SA 67 Camaro back in the 80's , Class racing was way above my pay grade back then , I built it back to NHRA specs , it would run nearly a full second under the index and deadly consistent , Had a lot of good times in that car.

Awesome video of the ppl and cars that drag racing started me on this love affair with anything with wheels and a gas burning engine. I cant imagine what trial and changes and repeat etc to get that car with the stock specs on everyting to run that hard.! And the chassis is dialed in totally. Love how a mopar stands up on the tire when it takes off! Im always in the stands at big events here in Gainesville if this class is called. Love seeing the big boys run, but to me this is the essence of why they have those events.

You can't beat B5 blue... I understand you liking the viper blue, and it's a beautiful color, but the B5 and white stripes is a beautiful combination too... I know, because I had a 71 Demon340 in B5, white vinyl top, and stripes. Bucket seat, console, rally dash... Built it in 2012, and sold it in June 2017. Don't feel bad, because I used that money for repairs to my house, and I was 1 of the few who didn't have damage after hurricane Harvey came in.
