I had an eating disorder as a 13 year old boy. I'm 31 now, but still remember that conversation Jeff speaks of. "You're not underweight enough" they said. They may as well have set me a challenge: go away and see if you can starve yourself to death. I recovered as my obsessive, spiralling mind found another way to appease it, another way to keep my finger firmly on that self-destruct button. All this a consequence of the complexities and traumas my mind was too young to cope with.

I have an eating disorder (over eating) and have struggled for a long time. I went to the doctor and was basically told I wasn’t fat enough. Even though through my eating I had put on a hell of a lot of weight. It took me a long time to build up the courage to ask for help and I was shit down. It’s disgusting. Luckily I’ve had family help me to try and get back on track. Glad Jeff has mentioned this today.

Big fan of Jeff as he comes across as very personable and is evidently bowing out at the top of his game . Nonetheless I am not into listening to personal rants from someone who advertises gambling websites and presumably takes his fee . Sounds to me like he is talking from personal experience and don’t imagine he would be advertising gambling websites if a family member of his had adversely suffered from a gambling addiction.

My daughter is dying in front of me no help on nhs She needs desperate help and nothing has been put in place told 6 weeks for any help she needs it now Was in a clinic abroad as no real help here but finances means she had to return

While I agree with what he says, 100%, I have just seen a lot of hypocrites on social media, although it doesn’t surprise me. The same people who say, keep politics out of sport, or, just make sport about sport, are now saying how lovely Jeff Stelling is? He could have put a video up on his own social media, and it would have gone viral, or better yet, he works for Sky, he could have had this rant on Sky News. I know what he’s saying but I think obesity related diseases kill a lot more than eating disorders… about 65% of UK adults are obese… it’s not as simple as he’s making out
