This era of Starship is my favorite. Marty Balin's vocals are superb. Runaway is number one with Miracles and this one great.

Written by Jesse Barish, who would collaborate with Marty Balin after Balin left the group and embarked on a solo career (he wrote "Hearts," Marty's biggest solo hit). The country-sounding piano was played by Pete Sears, who alternated piano and bass with David Freiberg. The group was notorious for its members coming and going. Balin left right after this album, "Earth." It was Balin's parting gift to the band after refusing to tour behind their most recent hit, "Miracles," the year before. They replaced him with Mickey Thomas and became simply Starship, setting up their second (or third) period of chart success. Thanks Daniel and Harri.

Mickey came in when Marty left and Grace went into rehab. He was on Freedom at Point Zero, Modern Times, Winds of Change and Nuclear Furniture as Jefferson Starship. Grace came back in 1981. They did not become Starship until Paul left and sued to get control of the "Jefferson" as a founding member of both the Airplane and Starship.

Beautiful song sung brilliantly by Marty Balin . And such great harmonies from the rest of the band. This will always be a masterpiece in my eyes.

I like the fact that you react to real beauties that are not commercial and therefore underrated. Always loved this song. Marty Balins vocals are awesome but the harmonies and that piano make this song so special. Man! That acustic guitar solo…so sweet. No more music like this anymore.

This song is great across the board, but it’s really the backing vocals that get me , esp. when you hear Grace sing “count on me” at the end. Jefferson Starship is an under appreciated era for this band.

This came out in junior high or actually when I was in 9th grade in the summer before 10th grade and my first girlfriend was this woman about two years older than me but one grade up from me already over in the senior high or I would be going that fall, and in that summer we listen to lots of stuff, but this was one of them that always got us making out if we weren't dancing. Down in her family room spinning records and having a great time. And as a musician of many years, this song also is just so immaculate musically in just a really laid-back sincere way. I love it.

From the 1978 Earth album, such a great song, with Marty Balin's great vocals taking the lead here. I always wondered if "Find Your Way Back" was in reference to Marty. With a great keyboard, wonderful acoustic guitar solo and drums that lead you to an easy listen with this tune. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Daniel. Great listen. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Love this album. This is just before the group fractured again but shows how they were at the top of their game for this iteration of airplane/starship. The opening number, Love Too Good is a brilliant jazz infused jam. And bless miss Grace she still was railing against the machine in the scorcher Show Yourself. If you get a chance, have a listen. Love your reactions.

I LOVE this song SOOOO much. I love the beautiful melody, but also the poetry of the lyrics: Precious love, I'll give to you Blue as the sky and deep In the eyes of a love so true Beautiful face, you make me feel Light on the stairs and lost In the air of a love so real You can count on me Count on my love Count on me Count on my love To see you through Emerald eyes and China perfume Caught on the wheel and lost In the feel of a love so soon Ruby lips, you make my song Into the night and saved by The light of a love so strong You can count on me Count on my love Count on me Count on my love To see you through Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo You can count on me, girl (Count on me) You can count on my love (Count on my love) Precious love, I'll give it to you Blue as the sky and deep In the eyes of a love so true Beautiful face, you make me feel Light on the stairs and lost In the air of a love so real You can count on me Count on my love Count on me Count on my love Count on me Count on my love Count on me Count on my love

The singer was Marty Balin, founder of Jefferson Airplane with Paul Kantner. He was ousted from his old band because the others wanted to get away from his love ballads. Ironically those songs are what sold when he joined the reincarnation Jefferson Starship. They needed his singles. When the band wanted to become even more commercial Paul Kantner left too and took the name 'Jefferson' with him.
