Highlights of the fight between Andre Ward and Arthur Abraham back in May of 2011, this was for the WBA Super Middleweight championship, where Ward makes his 3rd title defense. In 2009, Ward beat Mikkel Kessler by a dominant TD to win the WBA strap.
He had successfully defended the title twice against Sakio Bika and Allan Green in 2010, both via decisions.
Abraham entered the fight as a 4.5/1 underdog, and was ranked 8th by the WBA at that time. Abraham entered this fight 2-2 in his last four fights, with his most notable win over Jermain Taylor, with losses to Carl Froch and Andre Dirrell. Abraham picked up one win before this fight and was confident of a knockout victory.
This fight was the semifinals of the Super Six World Boxing Classic, to crown a Unified Super Middleweight champion. The winner of this fight is to clash with the winner of Carl Froch vs Glen Johnson. Froch emerged as the winner in one of his career best performances, outpointing Froch clearly to become the winner of the Super Six series.

Yes! I try my best to keep the original commentary, that's why I usually try not to use music. I sometimes will use music if the commentary is not in English but I try to retain the original commentary whenever possible =) Thanks bud, appreciate it!

abraham sucked.froch was overrated,subpar, no power. kovalev has the power and ward is over his head in november. the super middles were mosty subpar UK fighters. who fought with robotic postures.

Froch had plenty power and was also unorthodox not 'robotic'. It's also a strange comment to make about the super middleweight division being mostly sub-par UK fighters given Froch was the only British boxer Ward ever fought at that weight. Abraham also only has 5 losses in a long career so I guess he wasn't that bad either.

Ward lost to Kovalev the first time. Even ward was shocked he won. As far as the rematch, I don’t know anyone who could take 3 direct dick shots in a row and win. Ward is overrated. He knew he was running out of luck and retired.

It's the german style of boxing: High guard. Catching everything on the gloves. Little head or foot movement. They actually teach this style in Germany, believe it or not. It's a boring and ugly style. Also very static.

Abraham was super underrated. That fight with Andre Dirrell would have been interesting if there was no DQ. In the back of my mind in that fight, I felt that Dirrell was knockout ready honestly. Abraham was a tough, smart, skilled fighter, which meant Ward had to be on his game for this fight.

Heard Ward talk to Joe Rogan about how a lot of his career he dealt with shoulder issues that led to minimal use of his right hand. (Paraphrasing) Ward said something along of the lines of "I fought at the top level essentially one handed and afraid to throw the right or I might get hurt. Could you imagine if I had been 100%?"

Abraham's trainer Ulli Wegner used to say that the one-punch knockout power Abraham had at middleweight was both a gift and a curse. Pure boxers have to develop a deeper bag of tricks. Abraham got too gassed up domestically in Germany and believed his own "King" hype and it went on to bite him in the ass. Say what you want about Wilder (the biggest puncher right now). He doesn't keep his jab in mothballs or load up nearly as much as he did in the beginning of his career.

Andre ward is a like a smaller version of AJ beast mode. In the early rounds, Abrahim was very good, but Ward bike him down to have his victory. The jab and power punch from ward is on point! I must saw Abraham was an equally though bone to crack with good defence. Anyways, the better man won. Congratulations to Andre Ward!

Going back to this, you can see why the high guard is rubbish. Abraham dropped his hands to give his shoulders a rest and got clipped by a strong shot from Ward. It's dangerous to be in that guard sometimes. You can flow seamlessly from offense to defense with the l guard.
