I don’t get the “coping palette shades” thing. I didn’t know colors belonged to people.

i’m so annoyed with every jeffree star stan acting like the man invented an all-blue palette. like tarte didn’t make theirs an april fools prank last year. and with that, they think tarte could really formulate and release a palette so soon after jeffree announced blue blood? these stans are delusional.

Blue shadows are not new colors...they've been around since the 80's-90's I remember wearing blue in the '90s. They were cheapy brands and i was a teenager but they were blue none the less, and every so often a blue has been included in certain palettes or mini-series ever since. makeup, in general, takes time to come out to what a brand wants in their formulas. at least 6 months from scratch and goes through a lot of testing and chemical changes to get the desired effect. Jefree's tends to take a shorter time frame because he already makes bold colors and uses the same formula system for shadows, highlighters, and scrubs as older releases because he likes that system. It really just depends on how bold or subtle he wants them to be with a pigment or press. (also have to include on if they are eye safe and staining tested as well) companies also have a set time frame for launch A - D and they usually don't talk with other companies about their in process products or launches for them...so while tart's launch was a bit off-putting since Jeffree announced his date beforehand, once a date is set, its extremely hard to change it once it's been set and orders have been sent out. Tart really had no other choice but to keep it set the day before Jeffree's. there's really no such thing as copying either in industries that are mainline and looking for next big hit, its the same with cellphones, cars, tablets, video games, and clothing. After tarts "April fools" palette everyone saw how much it was hit and upset fans when it turned out to not be real, so every company intentionally or not jumped on the next big color binge. Tart even broke down and started the work on their real one.

People got mad because the pallet was missing only TWO shades???? I wish people went that hard over disturbing issues instead over some makeup they said they wanted. Ungrateful.

Tarte didnt copy Jeffree. They pulled a terrible April Fool joke, last year, & they got yelled at for it lol. Tarte has a habit of listening to their customers AFTER they mess up. So, I believe they started working on that blue palette ASAP. So many brands took advantage of that eff up, by coming out w/ their own. It wouldn't surprise me if Jeffree also took inspiration from that palette lol. Wouldn't say he copied, either, though. He did wear blue shadow a lot in his early days & Im sure he planned the Blue Blood palette after the Blood Sugar palette. Also, I dont believe Tarte planned on releasing the palette that early. I think they were going to release it on the anniversary of their prank. But then caught wind of Jeffree's palette & decided to pull a fast one. Which is pretty grimey, imo. Tarte sucks. They have to be yelled at to get shit right? Nah, get shit right the first time, & then I'll respect you.

It takes months to package, create, get the formula right, and pretty much make the palette. I think they decided to release it early because they didn't want people to get even more mad and think there copying if they released it later

My theory is that Jeffree saw how everyone really wanted this blue palette with the april fool's backlash. People were still tweeting about it month's later meaning it was still on a lot of people's minds. Therefore he decided to make his own blue palette but probably after seeing how the public really wanted the palette and he got inspired and decided to release it. He just came out with it first. Tarte probably decided to release theirs at the same time cause they felt shitty about how they actually had this great idea and he ran with it and made it better so they decided to release whatever they had ready to be available. I doubt they copied it.

So after watching, I really like how you showed both sides, I do still think it was slightly shady to make the move of releasing tartes palette the day before. A smarter business move would have been keeping it April 1st, because we all knew Jeffree’s palette was going to sell out. Just my opinion
